  • Pakistani actress Hania Aamir has shared a shocking experience of being in the US for an event. Hania earlier shared on her Instagram story how she was allegedly assaulted and had to end her meet and greet abruptly in Dallas. On Instagram, she posted a story a day before, which has now disappeared. However, she reposted the same reply to those who supported her. In the long post, Mere Humsafar actress Hania Aamir wrote that she and her team were allegedly assaulted by the event organisers. According to her post, the organisers in Dallas verbally abused her manager and she slammed them for the same. She wrote, “It is no secret that I love and respect my fans more than words can describe. Everyone who came to meet us at the Dallas event, I love you to bits and it’s unfortunate that it had to end so abruptly.” The Pakistan actress mentioned, “Everyone saw videos of me walking to the crowd and taking pictures and everything was fine. When I was going back to my seat I heard one of the organisers verbally abuse my manager. Why walked up to her and asked what had happened and told the man (one of the organisers) that he could not speak to her like this. She was distraught that she went backstage. I followed her to make sure she was okay, and Fahad, being a gentleman, also came to check up on her.” Hania Aamir wrote, “Then we decided to start with the photos with the fans backstage, at this point he came running after us, calling us names, telling us to get out, calling off the security protocols and verbally assaulted us even more. Just because us women are in male-dominated fields, gives you no right to assume that you can get away with almost anything and that we will not take a stand for ourselves. I would like to apologise to every single one of you who came. And I dearly love every single one of you. I am sorry things had to end this way.” #haniaamir

  • Security forces killed a most-wanted Tahreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorist Ali Rehman alias Maulana Taha Swati along with seven others in an intelligence based operation (IBO) in the Tank district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, sources confirmed on Friday. A source said that Swati was a close associate of TTP leader Mufti Fazlullah, as well as Qari Amjad alias Mufti Mazahim. Swati had joined the TTP in 2010 and he was an important leader in the TTP Shura, according to the source. "On receiving information about the presence of Khawarij militants, the security forces conducted IBO in Tank district in the night between December 17 and 18," the source said, giving details of the IBO. During the operation, a terrorist, who had disguised himself in woman's clothes, entered a house and took two children hostage, as he tried to use them as shield to escape. However, owing to a successful strategy, the terrorist was eliminated, while both the children were safely recovered, the sources said. An explosive laden vehicle was also recovered from the terrorists. The sources said that the explosive material was likely to be used for a major terrorist attack. Meanwhile, the local people have lauded the army for the safe recovery of the children. The killings of militants on the Pakistani soil on a daily basis reflected a strong alliance between the Khawarij and Afghan Taliban, which posed a serious threat to global and regional peace. Pakistan had repeatedly provided evidence to the Afghan government in this regard, but no action had been taken.

  • Delhi Crime branch team arrested a 25-year-old man involved in a rape case in Badli, Delhi after an extensive 1500 km chase to Surat in Gujarat. The accused had been absconding since the registration of the case, Delhi police said on Thursday. A process of proclamation was also initiated against the accused in the present case. The accused was apprehended by the NR-I Crime Branch from Surat, Gujarat, after an extensive 1500 km chase. "The complainant, an employee in Bagwan Pura, had been befriended by the accused while working together. Under the pretext of trust, he administered an intoxicating substance and committed sexual assault while capturing explicit photos and videos. He used these recordings to blackmail the victim, coercing her into further physical relations. The victim courageously reported the matter, leading to the registration of the case at PS SP Badli," Delhi police said. Delhi police said that on December 16 actionable intelligence revealed the accused was hiding in Jai Ambey Nagar, Surat, Gujarat. Acting swiftly, the team conducted a raid and apprehended the accused, bringing him to justice. The accused, Kuldeep, hails from District Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, and completed his education up to the 8th standard. He has been residing in Bawana, Delhi, for the past 5-6 years and is currently employed as a welder in a factory in the area, Delhi police said. • A former head teacher has been struck off over a ski trip where one girl said she slept with three boys and was paid for sex by one of them. Justine Drury was principal at the CP Riverside School in Nottingham, which caters for children with behavioural and social issues, when the excursion took place in 2017. The trip to Switzerland was attended by 10 boys and two girls alongside Mrs Drury, another staff member and an apprentice staff member. A Teaching Regulation Agency panel heard that one pupil, known only as Pupil A, said she had had sex with three of the boys, including one in exchange for £30. One pupil filmed two others having sex and used the footage in an attempt to blackmail Pupil A into having sex with him, the panel heard. Mrs Drury said she “found out later” that sexual activity had been filmed and that she was “picking up a vibe that Pupil I had recorded some footage”. On the third day, almost all the pupils broke down the door of the restaurant in the hotel and stole around 10 bottles of spirits, it was said. On another occasion, one pupil was found with a knife, some shoplifted and some of the children attended nightclubs unsupervised, the panel was told. The TRA found the pupil-teacher ratio was “entirely inappropriate”. Mrs Drury also did not have written consent from the parents of all pupils for them to attend and risk assessments were not completed sufficiently. It was known that 10 of the pupils had special educational needs, eight were known to be sexually active, seven were known to have substance misuse problems and three were involved with the justice system at the time. Mrs Drury had initially taken sufficient steps to try to prevent initial sexual activity, the panel found. She had then allowed pupils to be left unsupervised for long periods and not taken action after she knew that pupils were engaging in sexual activity. The lack of supervision also led to the stealing, it was said. After the trip had ended, Mrs Drury did not tell the school’s trustees and the local authority about what had happened. • A day after Washington slapped sanctions on Pakistan’s state-owned missile development agency and three of its vendor companies, a senior White House official accused the country of developing long-range ballistic missile capabilities that could eventually allow it to strike targets outside of South Asia, including in the United States. In his stunning revelation about the onetime close US ally in the War on Terror, Deputy National Security Adviser Jon Finer said Islamabad’s conduct raised “real questions” about the aims of its ballistic missile programme. “Candidly, it’s hard for us to see Pakistan’s actions as anything other than an emerging threat to the United States,” Reuters quoted Finer as saying at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. “Pakistan has developed increasingly sophisticated missile technology, from long-range ballistic missile systems to equipment that would enable the testing of significantly larger rocket motors,” he said. If those trends continue, Finer said, “Pakistan will have the capability to strike targets well beyond South Asia, including in the United States.” His speech came a day after the US State Department announced a new round of sanctions related to Pakistan’s ballistic missile development programme, against the National Development Complex (NDC) and three Karachi-based companies — Akhtar and Sons Private Limited, Affiliates International, and Rockside Enterprise. While it did not offer any immediate reaction to Finer’s claim, the Foreign Office had, earlier on Thursday, denounced the US sanctions as “discriminatory”, warning they could exacerbate the regional power imbalance. “Such double standards and discriminatory practices not only undermine the credibility of non-proliferation regimes but also endanger regional and international peace and security,” it said. In a strongly worded statement, FO reminded that its strategic program was defensive in nature. “Pakistan’s strategic capabilities are meant to defend its sovereignty and preserve peace and stability in South Asia,” the FO said. The US sanctions were imposed under Executive Order 13382, aimed at alleged proliferators of weapons of mass destruction and their delivery systems. The FO statement decried sanctions against private commercial entities and rejected the accusations against them, describing them as based on “mere doubts and suspicion without any evidence.” It further criticised what it termed the US’ “double standards”, citing past waivers of advanced military technology transfers to other countries — a reference to India. “Such policies have dangerous implications for the strategic stability of our region and beyond,” the statement added. #news #pakistan

  • Two deadly bus accidents involving a fuel tanker and a truck on a highway in central Afghanistan resulted in the deaths of 52 people and left 65 others injured, the Taliban government confirmed on Thursday. The incidents occurred late Wednesday on the Kabul-Kandahar Highway in Ghazni province. The first accident took place near Shahbaz village when a bus collided with a fuel tanker, while the second involved another bus hitting a truck in the eastern district of Andar. Hamidullah Nisar, the provincial head of information and culture, reported the accidents on social media, although he did not specify the exact number of casualties in each incident. “We learned with great regret that two fatal traffic accidents occurred on the Kabul-Kandahar Highway, in which 52 of our compatriots were killed and 65 others were injured,” said Zabihullah Mujahid, the chief government spokesman. Rescue teams swiftly responded to the scene, transporting the injured to hospitals, with some reported to be in serious condition. The cause of the accidents is not yet clear, but Afghanistan’s roads, which have suffered from decades of conflict, coupled with dangerous driving practices and a lack of regulatory oversight, contribute to frequent traffic incidents. This tragic event follows a string of serious road accidents in the country. In March, more than 20 people were killed, and 38 others were injured when a bus collided with a fuel tanker in southern Helmand province. Another fatal crash occurred in December 2022 in the Salang Pass, when a fuel tanker overturned and exploded, killing 31 people and leaving dozens more with severe burns. #news
