About us
Established in 2005, the Pakistan Coalition for Education (PCE) is committed to the improvement of quality education in Pakistan. It provides opportunities to collaborate with its member organizations, impacting policies at all levels. The need to have a legal status for the coalition led to the registration of PCE as ’Society for Access to Quality Education (SAQE)’ in 2010. It works in 65 districts with more than 200 members including local Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), Parents' and Teachers' Associations, civil society networks working on women's and child rights and education, and is equally important with the Media (e.g. education reporters associations) and representatives of relevant education departments. It also has two radio shows, one on AM 1152 and one on FM 94.2, where it highlights problems with the educational system in Pakistan and suggests steps for its improvement.

Had the opportunity to attend training on "Advancing Tax Justice for Education in Pakistan," organized by Pakistan Coalition for Education an initiative of Society for Access to Quality Education in collaboration with Tax Ed Alliance . This discussion is the need of the hour to address the long-neglected topic of tax justice and its role in sustainable education financing system in Pakistan. Education must be at the forefront of national development strategies to ensure a secure future for the citizens. It’s high time for the government to realize the responsibility of their social contract with the nation by prioritizing education rather than focusing over urban infrastructure projects.
