Just as the mouth is the first place air enters our lungs, air intakes are the beginning of the air path in the ventilation system. They supply air to the interior of the building and protect the system from larger contaminants, such as leaves or other large elements. 🔹 First line of protection Air intakes stop larger elements of contamination, protecting the interior of the ventilation system. 🔹 Water retention standards Air intakes protect against rainwater, and their efficiency in this regard can be determined based on the PN-EN 13030:2002 standard. The highest class A is achieved by models that retain 99-100% of water. 🔹 Types of air intakes Different types of air intakes are available - wall and roof, with fixed, movable or automatically closing lamellas. 🔹 Location matters To ensure the best air quality, air intakes should be placed away from sources of pollution, such as streets or garbage cans, and at an appropriate distance from the exhaust vents. 👉 Learn more about our air intakes and exhaust vents: https://lnkd.in/d57v-j_E

Let's try a little thought experiment. How easily can our perspective influence our judgments? But first, read this story. ------ 🔥 This can be dangerous 🔥—back in 2018, there was a fire engineer named Povandolakoviscov Kityionshikov who was responsible for... wait. Why did you skip the name? . . . . ----- See, our brains, in just a fraction of a second, decide what's important. This is just one example of how quickly we make decisions and how often we overlook important details simply because our brains don't recognise them as familiar. But let's think bigger—on what scale does this happen? Do you know how many decisions you make each day? The average adult makes approximately 35,000 decisions daily. 🤯 Yes, thousands—not hundreds. If our brains constantly use shortcuts to make decisions, how many critical details are we missing? You probably remember that tiny detail you caught at the last second that could've led to a bigger issue. Take a moment to look around your space. What small detail might you have missed that could make a big difference? It’s amazing what we notice when we pause and focus. This is why building systems need to be designed and built on evidence. This involves creating them backed by research, tests, case studies, calculations, and simulations to enable informed decision-making. #FireSafety #SmokeControl

Yes! Our colleague Radek Sikorski even trained in Cyprus 😉 in the field of fire safety with 50 engineers in Cyprus! 🌍 Thanks to cooperation with Arimec Trading Ltd, we organized a comprehensive training that not only debunked myths about pressurisation systems, but also provided practical tips on design and installation. As Angelos Mina, Fire Protection Manager from Arimec emphasized: "SMAY and R. Sikorski gave us the opportunity to educate engineers from Cyprus and strengthen Arimec's position as a market leader. The training significantly expanded the participants' knowledge of key technical details." 👉 If you want to learn more about our fire ventilation solutions, please contact us! The strangest places where ventilation works – technology that pushes boundaries! What would you consider the most unusual place where ventilation works? Caves, bunkers, or maybe… space capsules? 🤔 Although our products are not there yet (but who knows, maybe it's a matter of time 🌌), we have created a ranking of the TOP 5 most surprising places in the world where ventilation plays a key role. Check it out! ✔️ Space capsules – life in a vacuum In space, ventilation is not a luxury, but a necessity. In the International Space Station (ISS), life support systems filter carbon dioxide and maintain the appropriate concentration of oxygen. Without these advanced technologies, astronauts would not be able to function even for a few minutes. ________________________________________ ✔️ Underground cities – breathing underground Coober Pedy in Australia, the famous underground mining city, uses ventilation systems to ensure the comfort of its inhabitants in the extreme desert climate. Natural ventilation supported by technology keeps it pleasantly cool even on the hottest days. ________________________________________ ✔️ Bunkers and shelters – air in times of danger The most famous is the Cheyenne Mountain Complex in the USA, which as a military bunker uses air filtration systems to protect against chemical and biological weapons. During the Cold War, such systems were standard in many countries. ________________________________________ ✔️ Underground research laboratories – absolute purity In laboratories such as Gran Sasso in Italy, located deep underground, ventilation systems eliminate even the smallest air pollutants. Cleanliness is a key element of research into subatomic particles and dark matter. ________________________________________ ✔️ Submarines – Breathing on the Ocean Floor Aboard submarines like the USS Virginia, ventilation systems are sophisticated devices that filter and circulate air in a confined space. They allow the crew to stay underwater for weeks.

IT MATTERS❗ Always check if pressurisation system has been tested as a whole kit, with all integrated components. Do you think this is just a talk❓ Oh, we assure you, it's not. 👉Inquiring information on the manufacturer's testing process and a third-party certification allows you to verify not only the system's compliance with EN 12101-6 standard, but also its ability to operate effectively in real-life conditions. Remember that products may behave differently when tested individually rather than when they are part of a system. At hasztag #SMAY, we follow standards. #2024 was a tough year due to stagnation in the construction industry in many markets, especially Poland, while we are coming out of it stronger. Today we are growing through diversification. I'm very happy that SMAY Ventilation Systems's export sales in 2024 increased by as much as 28%! In addition, sales of iSWAY units in volume terms increased by 32% YoY. But what matters more is the future. We already have projects secured today that will triple (+200%!) our result of iSWAY units sold #2025! And still working to increase that number! This is a great credit to the entire Export Department, our new UK branch (David Fitzpatrick), the support of the Executive Board, but also every single person in all departments contributing their part to ensure that SMAY offers the highest possible quality of products and services! And of course to our Partners and Customers! It's a pleasure to work in such a supportive environment, where every challenge finds a solution! For my part this year I: - conducted about 20 CPDs, - spoke at 4 events (US, 2xUK, UAE), - participated in 5 trade fairs, - made 17 business trips - taking 56 flights (150h & 100k km in the air!). Next year means more challenges, new projects, new markets, new relationships. But also the introduction of new innovative products, to be ready for the new markets' needs! To everyone involved in this process, both at SMAY and to Partners and Clients, THANK YOU and WISH YOU GREAT 2025!
