Vy Buss, Norway’s largest bus operator, has ordered three Solaris Urbino 9 LE electric buses. These battery-powered vehicles will serve routes in Slemmestad, a suburban district of Oslo. “Norway has had success for many years with the diesel version of Solaris Urbino 8,9 LE, a perfect bus for countryside travel and smaller towns. Now, we aim for the new 9 LE electric to be just as successful, and are proud to introduce this bus to the Norwegian market together with Vy”, said Sverre Skaar, CEO Solaris Norge AS. This is the first order for our 9-meter battery-electric buses from the Nordic region. The buses for Vy Buss will be equipped with the so-called Scandinavian package, which includes additional thermal insulation and features such as a snow chain drawer and special anti-elk lights designed to deter wild animals from entering the road. #emobility #zeroemission #publictransport #solaris

Today, we signed a contract with MPK Poznań for the delivery of nine Solaris Urbino 12 hydrogen buses. The initial order included 5 vehicles, but the operator immediately decided to expand it with additional 4 buses. The newly ordered hydrogen vehicles will join Poznań’s public transport fleet by April 2026, further strengthening the city’s hydrogen-powered fleet, which already includes 25 Solaris Urbino hydrogen buses. With this agreement, Solaris reinforces its position as a zero-emission leader in Poland. Hydrogen technology is gaining momentum nationwide, with cities such as Konin, Lublin, and Wałbrzych also investing in this eco-friendly solution. Representatives of Solaris Bus & Coach and Miejskie Zakłady Autobusowe Sp. z o.o. in Warsaw have signed a contract for the delivery of 50 articulated Solaris Urbino 18 electric buses. Warsaw has one of the largest electric bus fleets in Europe, with the vast majority consisting of Solaris vehicles. The city’s operator, MZA (Miejskie Zakłady Autobusowe), has decided to further expand its zero-emission fleet. On February 3rd, representatives of Solaris Bus & Coach and MZA signed an agreement for the delivery of 50 additional electric buses. The co-operation between Solaris and MZA Warsaw has been ongoing for 28 years, with our company delivering nearly 1,350 buses in total. The first electric Solaris buses appeared on the streets of Warsaw in 2015. Since then, MZA’s fleet has grown to include 163 battery-electric Solaris buses. It is also worth noting that, in addition to the newly signed contract, we are nearing the completion of another order placed by MZA Warsaw in 2023. Once all orders are fulfilled, the operator’s electric fleet will consist of an impressive 224 Solaris electric buses. #emobility #publictransport #zeroemission

Agata Standa (she/her), Chief Strategy & Sustainability Officer at Solaris, took part in the conference "The European Way of Growth: A Growth Policy for a Secure, Resilient, and Globally Competitive European Union," which was key event under Poland's presidency of the Council of the European Union. During the conference, participants focused on the complex challenges facing Europe in the context of industrial transformation. Experts assessed the opportunities that decarbonization could bring in terms of enhancing competitiveness, as well as the actions necessary to adapt to new economic realities. Speaking at the "Challenges for Competitiveness and Growth" panel on climate neutrality, Agata Stańda shared Solaris's insights into the transition to e-mobility. She also highlighted the company's commitment to zero-emission transport. In light of Solaris's ambitious plans, she discussed the development of zero-emission intercity buses, an essential step in advancing sustainable mobility beyond urban areas. Solaris is not only introducing zero-emission vehicles onto the streets of European cities but is also taking ambitious steps toward decarbonizing its own production, which is crucial for minimizing its environmental impact. Collaboration with local suppliers allows for emissions reduction and shortens supply chains, aligning with Solaris's long-term goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2045. We thank the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy for the invitation to participate in this important and inspiring discussion. #sustainable #publictransport #emobility #zeroemission #eupresidency
