Excited to announce our 1st Keynote Speaker for our 2nd annual European CVC Summit & Awards (alongside "ScaleUp with Wolves"), set for 2-3 April 2025 in Berlin: David Delfassy, Investment Director, TDK Ventures (London) David leads capital deployment from TDK Ventures’ Fund EX1 which focuses on accelerating energy transition and decarbonization. David joined TDK Ventures from Ahren Innovation Capital, a deep technology globally focused investment firm, where he led the development of the firm’s decarbonization thesis and invested in venture and growth stage business across sectors including sustainable aviation fuels, green hydrogen, carbon dioxide removal, alternative proteins, and high-performance computing. David holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science from Duke University, with a specialization in Aerospace Engineering. In Europa hingegen kämpfen wachstumsstarke Unternehmen oft mit einem Mangel an Kapital, das sie dringend benötigen, um ihre Visionen zu verwirklichen. Dabei hat Europa enormes Potenzial. In den letzten Jahren wurden hier mehr Startups gegründet als auf der anderen Seite des Atlantiks. Unternehmen wie Revolut, Spotify und Klarna zeigen, dass europäische Gründer Weltklasse sind. Und doch wandern viele dieser Erfolgsgeschichten in die USA ab – weil dort die Finanzierungsmöglichkeiten und Wachstumsbedingungen besser sind. Europa muss handeln: 1. Venture-Kapital fördern: Wir brauchen eine stärkere Kultur des Wagniskapitals und mehr Investitionen in innovative Firmen. 2. Kapitalmärkte öffnen: Ein integrierter Kapitalmarkt würde den Zugang zu Finanzmitteln erleichtern. 3. Innovation belohnen: Forschung und Entwicklung müssen steuerlich gefördert und regulatorische Hürden für Startups gesenkt werden. Innovation ist die Grundlage unserer künftigen Wirtschaft.
