Weather

Touting clock app integration as a benefit because you can get a weather report with an alarm is a joke. It may be useful for a morning wakeup alarm but there is no reliable independent access to the weather app. There are many great weather apps to choose from with great widgets but my preference is for simplicity. All I want is a simple 1-line status of current conditions on the main screen that I can tap for a detailed report. The Google weather page is great ... if you can get to it 😞

The app has great UI and all, but the fact that you cant tell it to just show the weather for one fixed location really rubs me the wrong way. Should I always have location on? I just want the weather for my hometown in which I spend 80% of my time, I don't want to activate my location since pixel 7a battery already has very poor performances. It is just an easy feature I cant think of a reason why it does not exist. Oh wait I can, they just want to track your every location, thx Google

I wanted to give this app a solid 3 but it deserves a 1. There's no icon for it in your app drawer, it's not in the App list under Settings or in the store under Installed. I managed to find it in the Apps List under "system apps". It ONLY works as a widget... You can't even tap it and get the weather. Oof that's minimal effort to show for an app and maximum effort to hide it.
