Podcast Review: Dungeons and Daddies If you’re drawn to Dungeons and Daddies based on its title alone, expecting a kinky BDSM-themed romp through a fantasy world, you might find yourself slightly disappointed—but also pleasantly surprised. Instead of leather-clad dungeon masters, this podcast offers an uproarious and heartwarming take on four suburban dads (and later, their kids) navigating the chaotic and absurd world of Dungeons & Dragons. The humor is sharp, the storytelling is inventive, and the character dynamics are brilliantly absurd, making it one of the most entertaining D&D podcasts out there. However, I can’t help but wish they leaned into the title’s… other potential meanings. With a name like Dungeons and Daddies, there’s such fertile ground for hilariously awkward innuendos or a cheeky subplot involving some decidedly adult “roleplay.” Instead, the show sticks firmly to dad jokes, heartfelt moments, and chaotic D&D gameplay. It’s wildly entertaining in its own right, but part of me wishes the creators had embraced the double entendre more boldly. Even just a few tongue-in-cheek nods to its suggestive title could’ve added an extra layer of hilarity. Still, Dungeons and Daddies excels at what it sets out to do: delivering a fun, chaotic D&D campaign driven by dad energy and unpredictable antics. If you’re into clever improv, ridiculous scenarios, and surprisingly emotional storytelling, it’s a must-listen. Just don’t go in expecting whips and chains—this dungeon master’s tools are dice and puns. Rating: 5/5 (Minus one star for missed BDSM potential, but hey, maybe that’s for the spin-off series?)
Could this be better? Not a chance!!

Recently I’ve been using podcasts to keep me occupied on my commutes to work, recently though it’s been game lore casts until on the starfield lore cast they talked about dungeons and daddies. I’m a huge fan of everything bdsm so this certainly disappointed, however I’m a much bigger fan of dnd. I started playing dnd back at the age of 9 years old, growing up in a family that couldn’t afford much dnd was perfect as all you need was pen and paper, dice and an imagination. As I grew older my interest never swayed but unfortunately didn’t have much in the way of friends who played. Discovering this podcast has made my year, I sit on the tram sniggering whilst holding back a belly full of laughter (it’s ok I don’t stand out as lots of crazies on the tram), the dad jokes and psychic damage has me in tears, the characters are building up so well so early on and the passion just shines. Thank you for filling this void for a friendless dnd gamer, any pointers on good bdsm podcasts would be great though 😭😭😭. Your sincerely A very British gentleman from the heart of Robin Hood country.
How much I love the podcast

My friends probably detest Matt, Will, Beth, Freddy and Anthony because of how much I rant about this podcast. Without listening to it, my friends know 80% of everything that happens in this podcast

Why does Anthony’s voice sound hot in this episode? I think I’ve listened to too much of this in one go… Rec me, Daddy.
