    Attention Trademark Professionals and Business Owners The USPTO has announced increases to trademark filing fees, effective January 18, 2025. Here's a breakdown of the key changes to help you prepare: Fee Adjustments Application Filing Fee: $350 per class (electronic filing). Amendment to Allege Use (AAU) & Statement of Use: $150 per class (up from $100). Section 8 & Section 71 Declarations: $300 per class (up from $225). Registration Renewal (Section 9): $350 per class (up from $300). Letter of Protest: $150 (up from $50). Petition to the Director: $400 (up from $250). Petition to Revive: $250 (up from $150). New Fees Introduced Insufficient Information Fee: $100 per class for applications missing required details. Free-Form Text Box Usage: $200 per class for entering goods/services descriptions manually. Additional Character Fee: $200 per class for descriptions exceeding 1,000 characters. With these increases, planning ahead is essential. The Existing noncompetes with the rest of the workers are not enforceable after the effective date of the final rule. • Specifically, the final rule defines the term "senior executive" to refer to workers earning more than $151,164 annually who are in a "policy-making position."
