And as such, on World Population Day, we want to highlight the importance of aging with equality 💜. At Actif we are committed to promoting #inclusion and respect for the rights of older people and celebrate how globalization and technology are transforming their lives. The population over 60 is increasingly active on social networks, especially on Facebook. 📊 Statistics: - 61% of Europeans aged 65+ use the internet (Eurostat, 2022). - Facebook is the social network most used by older people (Creating Results, 2023) - 123.3 million Facebook users are 65+ year-olds, representing 5.6% of the total users of this social network (Statista, 2023) 💜 Benefits: - 🌎 Connection with friends and family around the world, social networks with all people make it possible to shorten the physical distances that separate us - 🚀 Information and learning with access to topics ranging from health and well-being to news and current affairs, social networks are the library of the new era for older people - 🤝 Inclusion and community the possibility of joining groups of people with similar interests promotes a sense of community and belonging in older people. Yesterday Actif was present at the Hackathon 2024 event, organized by the CCPH - Dutch Portuguese Chamber of Commerce, where we presented and discussed the potential use cases in a hospital setting that our product could be applied to and showed what is the economic benefit and return on investment for hospitals and the experts. It was a productive discussion, with great ideas and opportunities for networking. We thank the Dutch Portuguese Chamber of Commerce for inviting us.
