📄A new research paper authored by several CIDEFES members - António Palmeira, Eduarda Sousa-Sá, Sara Pereira, and António Videira-Silva was just published in the Journal of Sports Sciences! 🌟This study describes a collaborative, three-step process for selecting 18 core measures of physical activity determinants in children aged 9–12, balancing data relevance and participant burden through expert input, systematic review, and consensus discussions. Inês Santos, a member of CIDEFES, has contributed to the production and release of the e-book "Feeding the Future: Rights, Opportunities, and Strategies for a Fairer World." This evidence-based publication focuses on nutrition and its role in promoting a just and equitable future. The project was a collaborative effort with the Faculty of Medicine of Lisbon University and the Nutrition Lab at the same institution, highlighting interdisciplinary cooperation to address critical issues in global health and nutrition. On September 24th, CIDEFES member and PhD student Maria Fernanda Souza facilitated a panel and co-facilitated a workshop at the Europe Placemaking Week, in Rotterdam. She joined members of the YoPA team— a Horizon Europe funded project that CIDEFES takes part in, and other researchers from Serbia and the United States in the session called "Youth-Driven Urban Transformation: Bridging Education, Inclusion & Engagement", which focused in fostering ways to include youth in active urban transformation. On August 28th, Ana Paulo represented CIDEFES at the 14th World Congress of Performance Analysis of Sport, held at Middlesex University, London. She presented two significant studies: "Receivers’ individual and collective adaptation to the serve-reception in male expert volleyball players" and "Execution indicators and physical fitness association with game actions’ outcome in U13 female volleyball players: Results from the APTA project."
