Escola Profissional de Tondela was established under Decree-Law No. 70/93 of 10 March, under a program-contract with the Ministry of Education, approved on 29 July 1993, together with the addition to the same contract on 24 February 1995, adapting to the new legal regime in accordance with Decree-Law 4/98 of 8 January. The School is owned by E.P.T. Cooperative of Public Interest and Limited Liability. The main promoters of this educational cooperative are Tondela City Council and ADERETON - Tondela Region Development Association. Its facilities operate in what had been the former school Tomás Ribeiro de Tondela.
