The c(AI)rcle V At Double J Collective Gallery | Dubai Design Week 5th November to 10 th November 2024 Following a global showcase at renowned design events in Paris, Milan, London, and Helsinki, the c(AI)rcle’s pentagon finds its final vertex in Dubai. This innovative AI and regenerative-design installation will be featured at Double J Collective Gallery, located in the Dubai Design District. As the first gallery exclusively dedicated to the promotion and sale of fine craft and collectible design pieces, it is a hub for boundary-pushing creativity and innovation. In this fertile ecosystem that fosters reflection on new explorations in the fields of design and art, connected with creative experimentation, GENCORK presents the concept of Naturology — a symbiosis between nature and technology. There is a greater awareness of ecology and a vital need to understand and value the essence of nature. In parallel technology is no longer a trend, it is a natural consequence of human evolution. In a present-day context , the integration of artificial intelligence raises important challenges for society. SPECTROOM studio has addressed this topic by creating the installation "The c(AI)rcle V " for GENCORK, as part of The c(AI)rcles Pentagon series, which has been exhibited in different cities around the world. This design/art installation, which explores the connection between artificial intelligence, (re)generative design, art, and sustainability, is made from Sofalca's expanded black cork, 100% natural material. This exploratory circular structure, based on biomimetic principles, replicates organic natural phenomena, decoded by humans in co-creation with algorithmic computation and produced through CNC milling machines, unveiling new creative processes in the fields of contemporary art and design. The c(AI)rcle is a sustainable and conscious statement with a pioneering view of the world. The c(AI)rcle is our planet asking to be seen with a new and holistic vision. The C(AI)rcle IV at Habitare, Helsinki We’ve written the fourth chapter of the c(AI)cle´s Pentagon. A new vertex has been created in our creative map, this time at the Habitare fair in Helsinki. Spectroom has designed for Gencork a unique experience, not only by designing a design-art installation focused on Naturology concept but also by producing an AI video that illustrates the entire digital and computational process. Feel the experience evolve from a global overview to the intricate details of the cork, as you see the "footprints " of our CNC milling machine sculpting a block of expanded black cork. 🌿 What a remarkable night at Back to Nature: Bringing the Outside In discussion at the Roca London Gallery! From GENCORK stunning cork creations to @TySyml 's seaweed and mycelium designs to Sofia Hagen immersive 3D-printed art. Mamou-Mani ltd. captivated everyone with their sustainable, digitally fabricated installations, PAULCROFT LIMITED Studio impressed with recycled cork furniture, whilst BLAST DESIGN STUDIO, INC. Studio transformed waste into functional art with robotics. ButterflyAI Technologies showed how eco-friendly air purification can transform our indoor environments, Celine Darnaud vowed with the immersive experience for the mood light project, and CECOCECO's design solutions pushed the boundaries of sustainability. ZHA x GENCORK: office tours during London Design Festival, Tues 17 Sept Zaha Hadid Architects has partnered with GENCORK, the regenerative cork panel brand by Sofalca to create four cork walls informed by ZHA’s architectural designs. Each of the stunning wall reliefs now installed at the ZHA’s London studios convey the rich materiality and sustainability of cork and Gencork’s advanced production techniques. Join us at the Zaha Hadid Architects Gallery to preview newly-installed cork walls fabricated by Gencork with designs inspired by different ZHA projects to explore the potential of black cork agglomerate through advanced CNC milling machine systems.
