MI-OSI-R & IODA2024 Barcelona An Enriching Experience at IODA 2024 in Barcelona I had the privilege of participating and presenting MI-OSI-R, an innovative minimally invasive technique for bone conduction implants, at this exceptional conference. It was an invaluable opportunity to connect with highly skilled professionals and visionaries, fostering exciting prospects for future collaborations. The development and success of MI-OSI-R are closely linked to its application with the OSIA system, a key technology by Cochlear, . While this work remains independent and surgeon-driven, such collaborations underscore the importance of aligning technological progress with the needs of patients and healthcare professionals. This presentation highlighted the potential of MI-OSI-R to revolutionize bone conduction implant placement by offering a truly minimally invasive approach. Creation of a reusable subperiostal pocket without anchoring allows a reverse and best position of the microphones and the possibility to RE-USE the same pocket for a future implant in the same place . Our ambition is to extend these benefits to even the youngest children, providing safe and effective solutions while preparing a pathway for future implant designs tailored to evolving patient needs. This work has already initiated discussions at IODA 2024 for multicenter studies and an upcoming scientific publication, with the ultimate goal of official certification. We hope to establish MI-OSI-R as a reference for bone conduction implants, ensuring that it becomes the first-choice solution for healthcare professionals worldwide. 📽️ Attached is the video of the MI-OSI-R technique presented at IODA 2024, showcasing the innovation that supports these ambitions.
