Honored to have attended the HMA/EMA Big Data Stakeholder Forum 2024 at the EMA building in Amsterdam. It was a privilege to connect with stakeholders across regulators, industry leaders, SME representatives, patient advocates, healthcare professionals, academics, HTA bodies, ethical representatives, European Commission representatives, standardization bodies, and more. The discussions were incredibly insightful, leaving me with new ideas and a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities in data-driven regulation. 🌍💡

Last week, I had the privilege of representing MTG Research & Development Lab at the Health Data Forum Summit, an event highlighting the transformative role of #RWE in healthcare. Our participation included the participation of my colleague, Mariana Canelas Pais, who delivered an insightful analysis of how RWE bridges research and clinical practice. The summit also offered an opportunity to reconnect with experts like Prof. Fredrik Nyberg, Prof Saleem Sayani, PhD., Prof. Shirley V Wang, Dr. Osama Elhassan, Ph.D., FIHASI, Dr. Mazin Gadir PhD MSc BEng PMP Prosci LSSGB EBAS Agile, Anna Cederlund and Dr. Rhidian Hurle who traveled to Cascais to share their perspectives on health technology assessment, data-driven strategies, and the ethical challenges facing modern healthcare systems. Their contributions, along with sessions moderated by Prof Tiago Taveira-Gomes 🥷and Prof Filipe Costa, provided valuable insights into topics such as innovation in healthcare practice and value-based healthcare (#VBHC). Other remarkable contributions came from Dr Pedro Ramos, Dra Ana Clara Vieira Mendonça e Silva and Bruna R. Ornelas de Gouveia, Dr. Rui Santos Ivo, Maria João Lupi, Hugo Pedrosa, Gonçalo Sarmento e Costa, Prof Ismail Gogenur and others whose perspectives emphasized the importance of RWE, advanced technologies, and cross-disciplinary collaboration in transforming healthcare delivery.✨ I would like to thank Dr Paul Nunesdea, PhD, CPF, MC, Pedro Cid Ferreira, and Sofia Sousa Roque for their efforts in organizing this event and bringing together a diverse group of professionals to engage in meaningful dialogue. It was incredibly rewarding to represent MTG Research & Development Lab at ZIMAM Digital Health Week during the 7th GCC eHealth Workforce Development Conference 2024 in #Dubai. The experience was inspiring, bringing us closer to a shared purpose in healthcare. Our time in Dubai was invaluable, showing us not only technical advancements but, more importantly, that many others share our vision for making a real impact in healthcare. Special thanks to Prof Tiago Taveira-Gomes 🥷, our founder, whose forward-thinking vision continues to inspire us at MTG, together with partners like Opvance, Carlos Sousa, and Sigil Scientific Enterprises’s Anna Cederlund and Vasco Ramos Colaço. Very happy to announce that me and Jayshri Mevada at Sigil Scientific Enterprises are working hard to deliver Lypto: a new open-source project ETL Framework for #RWE geared towards OHDSI (Observational Health Data Sciences & Informatics) #OMOP CDM. 💫 We had an awesome hack-a-thon in our Dubai Headquarters together with MTG Research & Development Lab Data Science Director Mariana Canelas Pais, that has delivered 10+ ETL projects using Lypto in the past 6 months! 💪 Our director Vasco Ramos Colaço arranged an awesome setting for celebrating the successful hack-a-thon! 🎉 Now it is time to open-source this to the benefit of the community! We are targeting to have Lypto available on Github by Q3 2024! 🚀 Stay tuned! 😁
