Yesterday, the Hong Kong Office of the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province organised a one-day Inspection Tour of Huangmaohai Bridge and Jiangmen City. Attended by Alex Lam, Secretary of the Board of the HKPCCI, the event provided an opportunity to explore the newly inaugurated Huangmaohai Bridge, which opened on December 11, 2024. The bridge connects Zhuhai and Jiangmen, significantly enhancing connectivity in the Greater Bay Area and paving the way for new opportunities in business, trade, and tourism. The day’s highlights included: 🔹 A tour of the Sino-Europe (Jiangmen) SME International Cooperation Zone, a hub for international partnerships and innovation; 🔹 Meetings with foreign-invested enterprises and the Jiangmen Government, fostering collaboration and exploring potential synergies. This insightful journey emphasized the Greater Bay Area’s strategic importance as a hub for innovation, collaboration, and economic growth. Hong Kong is taking center stage as a global hub for sports and entertainment with the upcoming Kai Tak Sports Park, set to open in the first quarter of 2025. Built on the iconic site of the former Kai Tak Airport, this ambitious project will become Hong Kong's largest sports venue, featuring a 50,000-seat Main Stadium, a 10,000-seat Indoor Arena and a 5,000-seat Public Sports Ground. Kai Tak Sports Park is expected to redefine what Hong Kong has to offer to the world, hosting major events such as the Hong Kong Sevens in March and the Coldplay concert in April, and key sports competitions during China’s 15th National Games in 2025.
