The Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD), Hong Kong SAR Government is seeking programme management services to support the design and construction of large-scale projects within the Northern Metropolis, including the Kwu Tung North / Fanling North New Development Area and the San Tin Technopole. Launched in the 2021 Policy Address, the Northern Metropolis is a visionary initiative to transform 30,000 hectares — roughly one-third of Hong Kong's total area — into a hub of residential, economic, and industrial development along the border with Shenzhen. Government has unveiled the Development Outline for the Hong Kong Park in the Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Co-operation Zone, a world-class innovation and technology (I&T) hub! This groundbreaking initiative is set to redefine cross-boundary innovation by: ✅ Building a world-class industry-academia-research platform. ✅ Creating a competitive hub for R&D transformation and pilot production. ✅ Becoming a magnet for global I&T resources. ✅ Pioneering a testing ground for policy innovation. As part of the Greater Bay Area’s strategic vision, the Hong Kong Park will be a key driver of technological excellence, capitalizing on the unique strengths of "one country, two systems" and "one river, two banks." With the completion of the first phase of buildings by the end of this year, the Park will enter into a transformative operational phase in 2025, with the aim of attracting global enterprises, talent, and investment. Last week, the Portugal-Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHKCCI), alongside several of our esteemed members, participated in the 25th Hong Kong Forum, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and the Federation of Hong Kong Business Associations Worldwide (FHKBAW). This year's Forum brought together over 320 participants from 28 countries to engage in discussions with key figures, including the Chief Executive of the HKSAR Government, the Executive Director of the HKTDC, Ms. Margaret Fong, and the Chairman of the FHKBAW, Mr. Hans Poulis. The event offered insights into: - Hong Kong’s business outlook and its unique role in the Greater Bay Area (GBA);  - Hong Kong's innovation-driven and sustainable development journey; - The Northern Metropolis project; - Youth entrepreneurship. The participants also had the chance to visit key development projects in Hong Kong, including the Hong Kong International Airport (now with three fully operational runways) and the Cainiao Smart GATEWAY, to understand the latest developments in Hong Kong and experience its unique role as a hub for innovation, technology and global collaboration.
