  • Why Every Podcaster Should Have A Newsletter ⬇️ Podsqueeze founder here, one of the main reason why podcasters use our tool is to repurpose their episodes into newsletters... But are newsletters really that important and impactful? 🤔 I figured I’d share some thoughts and stats that might be helpful if you’ve been considering starting one. The biggest advantage of a newsletter is that it gives you a direct connection to your audience, a network of followers you truly own. Also they’re amazing for monetization too. You can add ads, affiliate links, or even pitch sponsors by including them in your emails. - According to McKinsey, email is 40x more effective at acquiring customers than Facebook or Twitter combined. 🤯 - 30% of marketers say email has the highest ROI (Statista). - 60% of consumers have made a purchase because of an email (OptinMonster), compared to just 12.5% from social media buy buttons. It’s wild how much potential there is in email, especially compared to other platforms. For sending newsletters, there are a ton of great tools out there: - Mailchimp: Free for up to 500 contacts, super easy to use. - Mailerlite: Free for up to 1,000 subscribers, great for beginners. - ConvertKit: A bit simpler, free for up to 1,000 subscribers. - Brevo: Unlimited contacts on the free plan, but only 300 emails/day. If you’re considering to start a newsletter, our tool, Podsqueeze, creates a newsletter for you from your podcast episode. You just upload your episode, and it generates a draft newsletter in minutes. Have you tried using a newsletter for your podcast? What’s worked for you?

What Great Episode Titles have in Common? Just want to share some tips on how to write the best episode titles. At Podsqueeze we have been experimenting a lot and found some cool insights that might help other podcasters... A strong headline can boost click-through rates by up to 500%. (Peter Koechley from The Onion) Here are a few strategies that have improved click through rates: 1. Ask Questions ⁉️ People can’t resist a good question—it triggers this instinct to find out the answer. Backlinko even found that titles with question marks perform 23.3% better. Some examples are: "What’s the Secret Behind Top Podcasters’ Success?" "Is Podcasting the Future of Storytelling or Just a Trend?" For me, teasing the answer works really well too. Like: "Is Podcasting the New Radio? It Might Be Even Better..." 2. Keep Titles Concise (but Not Too Short) 📝 I used to make my titles super short, but apparently, according to a study conducted by Buzzsumo, the sweet spot is between 80–95 characters. Titles that are too short can feel vague, while long ones get cut off on platforms. For example: Too short: "5 Podcast Tips" Better: "5 Podcast Tips to Attract More Listeners Today" It’s a balance, but longer, descriptive titles tend to perform better. 3. Use Numbers 🔢 This one’s a classic because it works. Titles with numbers feel organized and actionable. BuzzSumo found that numbers like 10, 5, and 7 are the most effective. For example: "5 Ways to Repurpose Podcast Episodes for Social Media" "10 Mistakes Podcasters Make and How to Fix Them" Numbers just make your content feel more structured, which I guess people like. 4. Use Hyperboles 🤯 Okay, I’m not saying go full clickbait, but a little exaggeration (in a good way) can grab attention. Words like "best," "ultimate," or "greatest" work wonders. For instance: "The Best Podcast Marketing Tips You’ll Ever Need" "The Ultimate Guide to Growing Your Podcast in 2024" Just make sure your content actually delivers on the hype, or you’ll lose trust. 5. Avoid Spammy Words ⛔ This one surprised me. Words like "free," "magic," or "trick" can actually turn people off—they sound spammy. Outbrain’s research says these kinds of words lower click-through rates. Instead, stick to straightforward and professional language: Not great: "The magic trick to grow your podcast!" Better: "Proven Podcast Tips for Growing Your Audience" For some people (myself included), coming up with a podcast title can take way longer than it should. I hope these few tips are going to make the process a bit easier. You can always use Podsqueeze (our tool) to generate title suggestions from your episode's transcript. We make sure that the suggestions follow all the tips above. I am curious... How long does it take for you to come up with a title?

Want Your Podcast to Get More Listeners? Start with SEO 🚀 Here’s the hard truth: if people can’t find your podcast, they can’t listen to it. That’s where SEO comes in. By making your podcast discoverable on Google and Spotify, you can grow your audience and even attract sponsors. 🤑 Here’s a few tips we give to our Podsqueeze users on how to get started: 1️⃣ Pick the Right Topics Choose topics that people are actively searching for with these tools: - Google Trends: Search your niche, set the timeframe (30 days for trending topics or 5 years for evergreen ones), and look for keywords on the rise. - Exploding Topics: Spot trends before they’re mainstream. Filter by category and look for topics marked as “Exploding.” These are gold for going viral. 2️⃣ Optimize Show Notes Your show notes are your podcast’s first impression on Google. Use keywords wisely: - Add your main keyword to the URL and title. Example: https://lnkd.in/dJJrC5cT. - Write brief, keyword-rich descriptions of your episode. 3️⃣ Write a Blog Post from Your Episode A podcast episode can easily double as a blog post and help you rank for the episode keywords. Podsqueeze can help with that 😉 4️⃣ Internal & External Links - Link to other episodes with related topics (e.g., “Related Episodes” section). This helps Google understand your site structure. - Mention and link to any brands or resources you talked about. Then, let them know—they might share your episode! SEO isn’t just for blogs—it’s free traffic for your podcast. Start small: pick one or two tips above and try them out. You’ll see results faster than you think. Have questions or tips of your own? Let’s talk in the comments! 👇

Hey everyone, Podsqueeze founder here... I’ve been looking into podcast advertising lately and found some interesting stats. Thought I’d share them here in case it helps anyone thinking about ads or just curious about how podcasts are doing these days. Podcast Ads Are Growing Fast It’s crazy how much podcasts have grown. Back in 2016, almost half of people in the US didn’t even know what a podcast was. Now, podcasts take about 4% of the global marketing budget. The market is expected to hit $4.02 billion this year and might reach $5.03 billion by 2027. In the US alone, podcast ad revenue is around $2.57 billion this year. Listeners Actually Like Podcast Ads One of the best things about podcast ads is that people actually pay attention to them: 6 out of 10 listeners have bought something after hearing a podcast ad. 73% of US listeners are fine with sponsored messages. 80% of listeners don’t think ads make podcasts worse. Super listeners (the ones who listen 5+ hours a week) are even better. 51% say they pay more attention to podcast ads than ads anywhere else. What Works Best Host-read ads seem to work better than pre-recorded ones: 66.9% of US ads are read by hosts. 55% of ad revenue comes from host-read ads. Mid-roll ads (in the middle of the episode) are the most common for new advertisers. But don’t go overboard—listeners only like about 4 ads in a 60-minute podcast. Big Money in Podcast Ads Here’s something that surprised me: the top 15 podcast advertisers spent $50 million in March this year. BetterHelp and Amazon are the biggest spenders. Also, over 1,400 new brands started advertising on podcasts in just the first three months of 2024. Why It Matters For anyone with a podcast, this feels like a good time to grow. More brands are looking to advertise, and podcasts are proving they’re worth it. If you’re a podcaster, focusing on getting more listeners could really pay off. A lot of our Podsqueeze users have been working on ways to repurpose their episodes into smaller content Their favorites are clips for social media, and articles to share on social media (LinkedIn and Reddit). It’s worth a try if you haven’t done it yet. What do you think? Are podcast ads worth it? Let me know!
