🌳 Arbo-Innova is a collaborative project aimed at addressing the ecological challenges of intensive olive and almond farming through regenerative agriculture practices. 🍄 The project focuses on improving soil health, crop resilience, and nutrient density in these high-intensity systems. 🌿 RHEA leads the research on #nutrientdensity, studying how regenerative practices impact the nutritional profiles of olives and almonds. ✅ The European Union leads the world in olive oil production, responsible for 68% of global output. ✅ Spain alone produces over 1.4 million tons of olive oil annually, accounting for 40-45% of global production. ✅ Intensive systems are particularly vulnerable to #climatechange due to their high water dependency. ✅ Intensive systems face #ecological challenges such as soil erosion, water overexploitation, and biodiversity loss. Get in touch if you are working with olive and/or almonds, we would love to exchange! Agrosystemic #regenerativeagriculture #regenag #nutrientdense #olives #almonds

🌳 Meet Arbo-Innova - a R&D project by Agrosystemic 💡Arbo-Innova responds to one of the biggest challenges of #treecrop industry ➡️ the #intensification of systems. We are working with 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫-𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 olive and 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 almond systems, testing #innovative #regenerativeagriculture practices at scale 🚜 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐲 is a key focus of the project having a consortium of experts with varied and complementary skills, including expertise in conventional olive and almond farming, regenerative agriculture, organic farming, dryland farming, tree crops, and row crops. Agronomic partners are David Doll, Soil Capital Farming, Aurelien Rifault, Jorge Ferreira at Agro-Sanus - Assistência Técnica em Agricultura Biológica, Lda, Lydie Leymarie Lachaud. 👨🌾 We are proudly working with pioneers in regenerative farming and great land stewards João Valente and Diogo Pinho from Monte Silveira Bio and Bernardo Marujo from Monte Carrascalão 🔬 The project also has a strong scientific focus supported by 3 universities in Portugal, the main one being Instituto Politécnico de Bragança 🍎 RHEA is responsible for the #nutrientdensity research inside the project. We will be delving deeper into how the nutritional profiles in olives and almonds in intensive systems are affected by #regenerative practices It's a honour to be part of this initiative! 🍀

𝑨 '𝑻𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑲𝒊𝒕𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒏' 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒑 𝒊𝒏 𝑨𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒏𝒔: 📆 On June 10, 2024, the Athens FUSILLI Project team launched a new initiative to promote #sustainablediets through both traditional and innovative recipes, using #local, #organic, and #nutritious products. This initiative, of the Department of Preventive Medicine Municipal Clinics, “Your Health is Our Priority,” introduced an experimental workshop connecting healthy diets with the cooking and tasting of meals. Participants engaged in preparing and enjoying these meals under the guidance of two chefs, who provided practical tools for leading sustainable and healthy diets and managing weight. 💡 The workshop was facilitated by our co-founder and integrative nutritionist Eirini Tsirimokou. It combined interactive activities with experiential cooking training, focusing on teaching participants how to prepare #nutrientdense, tasty, and refreshing food suitable for the hot summer season. Additionally, 𝐢𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 #𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 #𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 #𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥, 𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
