#SonaeArauco has taken another step forward in its #sustainability strategy by securing a 200 million euros Sustainability-Linked Loan, reflecting the commitment to incorporate #RecycledWood and move towards a low-carbon economy, promoting a circular economy and efficient management of natural resources. 🌱 This financing is directly linked to the company's environmental performance, with clear goals by 2029: 🎯 to increase the incorporation of recycled wood by 9.3 percentage points and reduce the intensity of CO₂ emissions by 59%. What does it mean to launch the world's first dry fibreboard recycling line? 🌍 #SonaeArauco is taking a new step in the circular bioeconomy by installing an innovative MDF recycling line at its Mangualde unit, which will begin operations in 2025. Developed in collaboration with #ANDRITZ, the recycled fibers can be processed with high efficiency and lower steam consumption, transforming end-of-life MDF fiberboard into valuable raw material for new fiberboard production We aim to achieve 85% recycled wood in some regions in the next few years. This project, part of #TransForm and supported by #PRR, reinforces our commitment to a more #SustainableFuture and #Innovation in the industry. ♻️

We are proud to present the #AURA project, developed by our Product Development team in an innovative collaboration that unites #SonaeArauco with #ACB and other strategic partners. 🚀 This project, led by our Product Development team, particularly through the dedication of our colleague Isolino Valiño, Product Development Manager at Sonae Arauco, has resulted in a revolutionary line of an innovative 5-piece door with a perfect match between the central panel and the stiles taking advantage of the aesthetics of our decorative products - French Echo, Olivia Oak, and Unique White were chosen. As well as aesthetics, the doors also combine durability and sustainability - opening up new design possibilities not previously possible with doors of this type. More than just a product, it reinforces Sonae Arauco's position as a partner that drives innovation and creates business opportunities. 🙌🏼

Central to this commitment is our circular bioeconomy model, which promotes the cascading use of wood and is highly sustained by the incorporation of recycled wood. In line with this vision, we are excited to introduce the CircularWood project. This initiative will generate the knowledge needed to implement a reliable MDF recycling process. Coordinated by Sonae Arauco within the framework of the Portuguese Agenda transForm, this collaborative effort involves 56 partners in 30 projects. The most relevant innovation of CircularWood lies in the sorting of post-consumer MDF and the process to generate recycled fibres with adequate homogeneity and quality to be used in MDF production. We have some news! #SonaeArauco reinforces the commitment to #innovation and #sustainability by combining forces between #Agepan, Sonae Arauco's construction solutions brand, and Gutex - a reference in sustainable insulation solutions. 🎯 From 1st February 2025, this strategic cooperation will strengthen our company's portfolio, with Gutex producing a range of insulation materials for Agepan, based on the values of sustainability, energy efficiency, climate protection and living comfort. 🌿 For Michael Betz, COO for North East Europe at Sonae Arauco, this cooperation has great potential for success, as the two brands share the same values, and a will to leverage the importance of wood in sustainable construction. 👉🏼 Delivery of the products will officially begin on 1st March 2025.
