The United Nations University Operating Unit on Policy-Driven Electronic Governance (UNU-EGOV) is based in the city of Guimarães, northern Portugal. Its mission is to support the United Nations (UN), as well as its Member States, in transforming the mechanisms of governance and building effective governance capabilities through the strategic application of digital technologies. UNU-EGOV is part of the broader United Nations University, a global think tank and postgraduate teaching organisation headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, since 1972.
