Have just finished the book 📚 "Effective Software Testing" by Maurício Aniche and I am really excited to share the main takeaways and insights discovered here! I highly recommend it to software developers 🧑🏻💻 that want to improve their testing skills. - Learning about "specification-based testing" and "design by contract", even though I don't practice these as much. - Understanding I was already doing "structural" and "mutation" testing and it's benefits, along with some tools to perform them. - Hearing for the first time about "property-based testing". This is something I'd really like to put into practice! - My favorite chapters: "Designing for Testability", "Test-Driven Development" (no surprise here being an aspiring extreme programmer) and "Writing larger tests". - Last but not least, very interesting chapter "Test code quality" which dives into "test smells" concept, something I've been hearing from my technical coach Christoffer Gamrath. #testing #tdd
