At the "First Round Table on Humanitarian Cooperation on the Gaza Crisis," organized by the Global Peace Summit (GPS), experts, diplomats, and defense analysts called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. Chaired by GPS Founder Shaikh Mahmud bin Ilyas, the event addressed the urgent need to stop Israeli aggression against Palestinian civilians and the unfolding humanitarian disaster. Dr. Yousif Fouzi of the European Gaza Hospital highlighted Gaza's healthcare collapse, with medical supplies blocked and hospitals unable to function. Harry Sholy of the Palestine Red Crescent Society echoed these concerns, emphasizing the dire conditions on the ground. In the first round, moderated by Robert Fantina, Int'l Journalist and Published Author - David Swanson from World Beyond War condemned Israel’s use of starvation as a weapon and urged global action to stop military aid. Alexander Lawson discussed South Africa's genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), while other participants highlighted growing international sympathy for Palestinians, despite some governments' positions. In the second round, moderated by Shozab Majeed, an International law expert - Economist Dr. Aneel Salman warned of the crisis’ impact on global markets, particularly rising oil prices. Former ambassadors Dr. Raza Muhammad and Abrar Hussain expressed frustration over the lack of stronger international intervention, speculating that political factors, such as the U.S. election cycle, were delaying action. Concluding the session, Syed Muaz Shah, an arbitration expert, pointed to diplomatic efforts, including Saudi Arabia's push for a two-state solution. The round table ended with a pledge to present policy recommendations aimed at achieving peace and supporting Gaza’s victims. Mr. Asham Agha Nadeem, Ms. Ibtisam Barakat, Mr. Ramsey Hanhan, Ms. Lailla Bal Mahdi, Mr. Ali Sarwar Naqvi, Mr. Hasnaat Amir Gilani, Mr. Said Nizam, Mr. Zahid Mehmood, and Ms. Maham Naweed also participated in the event and shared their expert opinions and analyses. #GlobalPeaceSummit #GazaCrisis #UnitedNations #InternationalLaw #InternationalCourtofJustice #HumanitarianAid #CeaseFireNow #GlobalAction #Islamabad #Doha #Geneva

  • Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani has condemned Israel's military actions in Gaza and Lebanon, describing them as "collective genocide" during his speech at the Asia Cooperation Dialogue summit in Doha. Al-Thani expressed deep frustration with Israel's continuous impunity, highlighting that Qatar has long warned of the unchecked violence and devastation inflicted upon Palestinians and the broader region. Referring to the ongoing war, Sheikh Tamim criticized Israel for turning the Gaza Strip into an uninhabitable area, effectively forcing the displacement of its population. He also expressed concern over the recent escalation of violence in Lebanon, where Israeli air strikes have increased, bringing the region dangerously close to all-out war. The Qatari leader emphasized that what is happening in Gaza and Lebanon is not just a military conflict but an act of genocide, demanding international accountability and intervention. Qatar has played an active role in attempting to mediate peace, working to broker a truce with Hamas, but has faced obstacles due to Israeli resistance to a ceasefire. Al-Thani's remarks reflect Qatar’s broader stance against the violence in the region and its ongoing support for the Palestinian cause. #Qatar #GazaGenocide #UnitedNations #InternationalLaw #GlobalPeaceSummit

  • Iceland's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Thórdis Kolbrún Reykfjörd Gylfadóttir, delivered a powerful address to the United Nations, calling for an end to Israel’s violations of international law and affirming the inalienable rights of Palestinians. Gylfadóttir's statement was a bold denunciation of Israel's continued settlement expansion and its occupation of Palestinian territories, underlining that no nation, including Israel, is exempt from the rule of law. “No country is above the law. The Palestinian right to self-determination is beyond debate,” Gylfadóttir asserted, highlighting the fundamental right of the Palestinian people to govern themselves free from occupation. She urged the international community to recognize that Israel's actions, particularly its unlawful settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, are blatant violations of international law, specifically the Fourth Geneva Convention, which prohibits the transfer of an occupying power's population into the territory it occupies. Gylfadóttir demanded that Israel “immediately cease all new settlement activities” and put an end to its "unlawful presence" in the occupied Palestinian territories. Her words reflected the growing international consensus that Israel’s settlement expansions are a direct obstacle to peace and a two-state solution. Iceland's firm stance calls for not only halting new settlements but also dismantling existing ones that have entrenched Israel's occupation. By delivering this address to the UN, Iceland positioned itself as a vocal advocate for Palestinian rights, stressing that the ongoing Israeli occupation and expansion of settlements undermine peace and justice in the region. Gylfadóttir’s speech is a reminder that the international community must hold Israel accountable for its actions and reaffirm the universal principles of human rights and sovereignty. #Iceland #GazaGenocide #UnitedNations #InternationalLaw #GlobalPeaceSummit

  • Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has accused Israel of committing "genocide" against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, likening its actions to Adolf Hitler’s campaign to exterminate Jewish people during World War II. “What’s happening in the Gaza Strip isn’t a war; it’s a genocide,” Lula declared, emphasizing that the conflict is not between soldiers but rather between a highly militarized army and defenseless civilians, primarily women and children. Lula underscored the severity of the situation in Gaza by drawing a historical parallel: “What’s happening in the Gaza Strip with the Palestinian people hasn’t happened at any other moment in history. Actually, it has happened: when Hitler decided to kill the Jews.” During World War II, Hitler led a campaign that resulted in the systematic killing of six million Jews, an atrocity Lula now compares to Israel's war on Gaza. #Brazil #GazaGenocide #UnitedNations #InternationalLaw #GlobalPeaceSummit

  • UN Special Rapporteur on violence against women and girls, Reem Alsalem, has criticized the silence of countries that promote feminist foreign policies, calling it "deafening and deeply troubling" in the face of Israel’s ongoing assault on Gaza. Alsalem stressed that nations advocating for women's rights must apply their principles consistently, without selective advocacy, particularly by avoiding arms transfers that contribute to the killing of Palestinian women. Alsalem warned that official figures on the casualties in Gaza likely represent a vast underestimation of the true human toll. Among those suffering, the plight of women and children is particularly devastating. She highlighted that Israel's actions have specifically targeted Palestinian women as part of its broader campaign to destroy the Palestinian people. "There is no right that women have and no area of life that has remained unaffected," she said, underscoring the total erosion of women's basic rights and dignity. The constant fear of death, loss of loved ones, and witnessing the destruction around them are leaving profound psychological scars on Gaza’s women. Pregnant women, mothers, and young girls are especially vulnerable, facing alarming rates of miscarriages, malnutrition, and dehydration due to the dire conditions in Gaza. “Mothers and would-be mothers have been targeted by the genocidal machine,” Alsalem said. She described how these women are unable to feed their newborns and live in constant terror, forced to flee in search of safety that doesn’t exist amid bombardments, executions, and the destruction of their homes and family lives. #Jordan #GazaGenocide #UnitedNations #InternationalLaw #GlobalPeaceSummit

  • China's Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, has sharply criticized the United States for its double standards on human rights, particularly in relation to the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East. During a meeting with UN Human Rights chief Volker Turk on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, Yi questioned Washington's contradictory stance on Muslim rights. "If the United States cares so much about the human rights of Muslims, why does it continue to provoke or support wars in the Middle East and other regions, causing large numbers of innocent Muslim casualties?" Yi asked, according to a statement released by China’s Foreign Ministry. Yi also challenged the U.S. on its failure to address historical injustices faced by Arab nations, questioning why it continues to block Palestine from becoming a full member of the United Nations. He further criticized the "political manipulation" of human rights issues by Western nations, particularly the U.S., stating that such tactics are "increasingly unpopular" worldwide. Yi also underscored Washington's failure to play a constructive role in resolving the crisis in Gaza, asking why the U.S. has not taken steps toward achieving a permanent ceasefire and a full withdrawal of troops from the war-torn region. #China #GazaGenocide #UnitedNations #InternationalLaw #GlobalPeaceSummit

  • As the death toll in Gaza mounted, anger spread swiftly across Norway, with particular intensity within the Sami community. Hundreds of Norwegians shared images on social media holding placards that read "Stop bombing Palestine," while mass protests called for an immediate ceasefire. For the Sami, this moment represented the intersection of two deeply personal causes. On a chilly October day, in front of the Norwegian Parliament, the sound of Sami and Palestinian flags fluttering in the wind framed a powerful scene. Ella Marie Hætta Isaksen, a Norwegian-Sami musician and Indigenous rights activist, stood before the crowd, microphone in hand, performing the “joik,” a traditional Sami song sung without instruments. The haunting melody brought the boisterous demonstrators to a quiet halt, as Isaksen’s song carried a prayer for the besieged children of Gaza. “I’m physically so far away from them, but I just want to grab them, hold them, and take them out of this nightmare,” Isaksen said. She emphasized the shared struggle between Indigenous peoples and Palestinians, explaining, “Without trying to compare situations, Indigenous peoples all over the world have stood up for the Palestinian people because our bodies know the pain of being displaced from our homes and forced out of our own lands." #Norway #GazaGenocide #UnitedNations #InternationalLaw #GlobalPeaceSummit

  • Colombian President Gustavo Petro sharply criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his actions in Gaza during his speech to the UN General Assembly. Petro denounced the airstrikes on Gaza as part of a broader global injustice, likening Netanyahu to a criminal responsible for mass destruction. “It is in this inequality ... that we find the logic of the mass destruction unleashed by the climate crisis and the logic of the bombs dropped by a criminal like Netanyahu on Gaza,” Petro said. He warned that the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where 20,000 children have already died, represents a threat to all of humanity. "When Gaza dies, all of humanity will die," he declared, condemning world leaders for their inaction and indifference. Petro criticized the power dynamics on the international stage, arguing that only the voices of powerful countries are heeded, while those advocating for the preservation of life are ignored. “The power of a country in the world is no longer exercised by political and economic power, but by destroying humanity,” he said, emphasizing that the global community remains indifferent to the genocide in Gaza. In addition to his condemnation of the Gaza conflict, Petro urged immediate action to address the climate crisis, citing the alarming rate at which the Amazon rainforest is burning. He warned that if deforestation in the Amazon continues, humanity could reach the point of no return regarding climate change. "The Amazon rainforest is already burning," he said, stressing the need to stop the use of fossil fuels and halt the damage caused by "fossil capital." Petro also condemned the economic blockades imposed on Cuba and Venezuela, accusing the global oligarchy of permitting bombings in Gaza, Lebanon, and Sudan, while simultaneously enforcing crippling sanctions on nations that resist their control. #Colombia #GazaGenocide #UnitedNations #InternationalLaw #GlobalPeaceSummit
