After taking every night as the doctor instructed I am going to sleep in about 30 to 40 minutes. I have been on the medication for a little over a month and I am getting about an extra hour and half of sleep per night. It has...

After years on ambien (took it every other night with no side effects) it wasn't effective anymore. So I requested Q from my PC. I took it for 2 months, which seemed fair to judge. Q was horrible. Some nights no sleep u...

I was prescribed Quiviviq as an alternative to Ambien by my provider. He freaked me out about the long-term side effects of Ambien, so I switched. I did okay with it, but it was hit or miss. I gave it my best, and then my insurance would no longer provide a prior authorization for a discount. My prescription for Quviviq went from $25 to $596.00 a month. I am no longer taking it and back to begging for Ambien.

I have had a very hard time sleeping the last several years due to anxiety over my husband's illness. Ambien works, but I tried not to take it often due to fear of getting too reliant on it. I have been taking Quviviq 25mg. every night for two months and it has been a game changer. I love that it is not habit forming and I won't need to keep increasing the dosage for it to work. So far so good!

I am using QUVIVIQ as an alternative to Ambien. I do not feel that it works as well as Ambien, but it does work. I don't feel that I sleep as deeply as I did on Ambien, but I do feel rested. My side effects have been minimal, with only an increase in occasional constipation - at times somewhat severe. However, the absolute WORST thing about QUVIVIQ is the pharmacy they force you to use. Their website rarely works and is very basic. Their customer service line (everything requires a phone call - ... mostly because the website is almost useless) is typically backed up with a long wait. Often times I have to call multiple times for the same issue, which is usually just trying to get my refill processed. This past month it took 3 phone calls, 2 texts and 12 days to finally get the refill processed after being promised expedited processing during each call. It is very frustrating! I hesitantly will recommend this drug, but only because it does work, although I'm not sure the hassle is worth it. Read More Read Less

I've had insomnia for decades, tried CBT and all the usual meds. Amitriptyline and gabapentin were working fine for me, but my sleep doctor decided to put me on daridorexant 50mg a night as a trial. What a waste of time. First night, I woke up with EXTREME stabbing pains in the gut and couldn't sleep, so defeats the object of the meds. A few nights in, I got sleep paralysis and nightmares. Other than the few hours of broken, nightmare-filled sleep, I didn't sleep well at all. Woke up in terror... due to scary dreams, which meant I couldn't get back to sleep again. After a few weeks trying this, I've come to the conclusion that, for me, it doesn't work at all. I feel sleepy but can't actually fall asleep. I wake around 1 am and can't get back to sleep again. My insomnia is the worst it's been for ages. Am going back on gabapentin and amitriptyline. Read More Read Less

20 days on this, started with 25 mg, & never felt anything. Tonight I decide to try 50 mgs because I'm desperate for sleep. Well here it is 2 1/2 hours later & I'm more than wide awake not to mention very upset that this is going to be another sleepless night. I have a 30 day follow up with the doctor in 6 days & I pray that she just puts me back on Ambien because it works! What a waste of time on this medicine!

In my case Quviviq didn t show to be efficient at all even after 2 weeks. Looks like a placebo, didn t help me at all to fall asleep and this ineffective medicine costed me 150 chf, wonder how a pharmaceutical company may have to audacity to sell a medicine that got so bad reviews at such a price.

I have been taking this medication for 10 days now. I have lately had trouble staying asleep, and once I wake up, I am usually up for the remainder of the night. I do not stay asleep on this medication, however, it does allow me to fall back asleep pretty quickly. The downfall is the hangover in the morning. I am so exhausted the next day for several hours. I have also noticed a "funk" that I tend to be in - almost depressed. After reading the reviews I am thinking it is the medicine. My ... doc said to give it time to work - so I will finish my 30 days and see if the side effects clear up. Also, I may start taking the medication earlier in the evening, rather than bedtime, so it can wear off by the morning. I have been combining it with melatonin, so maybe I need to drop that as well? I forgot to add to my unsatisfactory experience that I had the weird, paralyzing night terror as some others have had. I felt I wasn't really asleep but thought my husband was tugging at my feet to wake up, I tried to open my eyes and my eye lids felt like they had weights on them. I then struggled to get my hand to my eyes because I felt paralyzed. I then woke up and thought, “what the heck just happened”? This drug was very disturbing for me. I thought it was some weird side effect just for me... , until I read others had night terrors after taking this crazy drug. This drug needs taken from market. Read More Read Less

Night 1, 25mg and I waited and waited and waited. Not even a yawn. Night 2, I doubled to 50mg max dose. I waited and waited and waited. Nothing. About dawn I napped on and off from exhaustion. I called my Dr. and went back to my previous sleep aid. It does give me some rest which is better than none. I do not recommend this Quviviq. It’s no more than a placebo for me.

I avoided taking this at first because of people talking about nightmares and sleep paralysis which I have experienced before both on other medications and without medications. However, personally I have not had any bad experiences so far while taking this. It seems be working well after 3 weeks of use. However I’m still uncertain on whether it’s creating some fatigue during the day. I am experiencing some but I have some other medications/conditions that could be causing it. Time should tel... l. I began taking this medication since October (2023) for sleep-onset insomnia issues. The first night I tried this Rx, I experienced some marked uncharacteristic (for me) interrupted sleep, which left me disappointed. However, several nights later I decided to try it again, and I fell asleep quite quickly with no interruptions in sleep. This has been my experience with taking the medication after I’m in bed for the night ever since—it has been working great! The only side effect I have noticed i... s some increased tiredness in the A.M. the day after, which especially seems to occur if I am unable to get a full 6-8 hours of sleep (taking dose too late & having to wake up early, etc). I will say that I have not had an issue waking up to my regular alarm consistently, which is wonderful. I have been taking 25 mg.-50 mg./night as needed and have also noticed the next-day tiredness increased with the higher dose. Overall, I have been very happy with this medication so far! First 3 nights I slept 10 to 10.5 hours. The following days I had to lay down (not sleep) for 90 minutes mid-morning and mid-afternoon. Next 3 nights I slept 9 to 9.5 hours, and only had to lay down (not sleep) mid-morning for 90 minutes. Week 2 was wonderful. I slept for 8 to 8.5 hours, with no lay downs. I haven't felt so refreshed or alert in many years. At the beginning of Week 3 it suddenly and completely stopped working.

I started this sleep because my sleep doctor perscribed it. After 2 weeks of taking it I am very dissatisfied with the results. I feel crappy when I get up & about half the time it doesn’t work For me. I don’t recommend it.
