We are proud to share that La Residencia has been recognised as a winner of the Best Sustainability and Rehabilitation Project in the XI Re Think Hotel Competition. This award, organised by Grupo Hábitat Segura and backed up by Spanish authorities, highlights sustainable initiatives in the tourism sector, highlighting projects that create a positive environmental and cultural impact. La Residencia has been recognised for its holistic sustainability programme, from regenerating endemic species and managing our historic olive grove to restoring protected centuries-old buildings and celebrating Deià’s artistic identity—all while immersing guests in the experience. The award ceremony took place in Madrid, where our Sustainability Coordinator, Diego Zamuner, proudly represented La Residencia. #TheArtofBelmond

At La Residencia, A Belmond Hotel, we believe in the potential of our team members to convey our culture and passion for the land through their daily actions. Meet Francisco Oliver, our Head Gardener, who has been part of La Residencia team for 35 years. A true fan of the spectacular setting and bohemian ambience of the hotel, he started working at the property at just 20 years old as a gardener. Ten years later, he was promoted to Head Gardener. “I never thought I would take this professional path, but over time I realized that it’s in my blood, most of my family works in similar professions” Xisco states. One of his greatest achievements has been initiating the preservation of our olive grove which was in a neglected state when the hotel opened in 1984. He and his team of five people work tirelessly to take care of both the century-old olive trees as well as the stunning gardens of La Residencia. Known among his colleagues for his charisma, commitment, and willingness to help others, he values working in an environment where everyone can grow and be themselves, and above all, where he can enjoy making people laugh. #BelmontTalents #CelebrateYourPassion #LaResidencia

La Residencia and artnet are inviting artists from around the world to embark on a journey of boundless creativity through Infinite Horizons, our latest art residency. Infinite Horizons is a two-month Artists in Residencia programme that gives the opportunity to three prominent artists of any disciplines to take part in a residency that will include accommodation close by and a studio at La Residencia, as well as a sponsorship. Infinite Horizons encourages artists to engage with the unique local geography, rich cultural heritage, and longstanding craft traditions of Mallorca. We are looking for artists who can integrate tactile craft elements such as ceramics, painting, or sculpture into their work, ensuring a connection to the tangible and artisanal legacy that defines La Residencia and Deià. The 2025 residency artists will be selected by Artnet’s Vice President, Sophie Neuendorff, and Senior Editor, Kate Brown, alongside journalist and art critic, Ianko López, the General Manager of La Residencia, Thomas Moons, and Belmond’s Art Director, Blue Bushell. Introducing Francesco Trevisan, our Assistant Head Concierge at La Residencia A Belmond Hotel.   Born in Italy, Francesco joined the team nearly two years ago having previously worked as a Housekeeping Supervisor across Venice, Rome and Mallorca. After some time working across prestigious Italian hotels in Front of House roles, Francesco returned to La Residencia and in 2024 was promoted to Assistant Head Concierge. Together with Head Concierge Pep Ferreiro and Concierge Elena Serra, he's also a member of Les Clefs d'Or, the prestigious international association of hotel concierges. Continuing to show a passion for his work, we are delighted to share that Francesco has been named Best Concierge of the Balearic Islands by Les Clefs d'Or and later this month he is competing to become recognised as the best in Spain.
