In our seek to build skills ecosystems, we are looking somewhat beyond the technical training required to build Europe's #deeptech talent in fields like engineering, technical works or industrial labour. One particular focus is set on better supporting tomorrow's worksforce by enabling GenZ to maximise the (ethical) use of generative AI. The science behind a successful and effective use of generative AI tools consists of targeted prompt engineering which requires a deep understanding of knowledge development. Therefore, our GenAI initiative tackles this challenge GenAI by enhancing GenZ's academic, professional, and personal pursuits. Key objectives encompass fostering digital literacy, enhancing the skill of prompt engineering, cultivating critical thinking, problem-solving, raising awareness of generative AI's potential and limitations. This initiative emphasizes on the harmonious synergy between AI and Human Intelligence, underscoring the human's role as the paramount validator. First results will be released soon ! The HINTS- High Innovative VET for green and digital Transformations 🙌 The High Innovative VET for Green and Digital Transformations (HINTS) Project is an initiative dedicated to enhancing the quality and responsiveness of vocational education and training (VET) in the Western Balkans and South Mediterranean. By fostering collaboration between EU institutions and local VET providers, the project supports the transition towards a sustainable and digitally advanced economy. ☰ Key components of the project include: The HINTS Hub: A digital ecosystem that enables seamless collaboration, secure knowledge sharing, and remote learning. Our mission of supporting regional innovation ecosystems in Eastern Europe and Western Balkans does not stop at innovation stakeholders themselves. Rather, we are looking holistically at the capacity of our "end users" to properly embed innovations as part of their workflows and daily lives. For this purpose, for the past 2 years we are actively working together with our partners on developing #skills #ecosystems focusing on key #smartspecialisation strategies of the regions that we support. To devise proper skills ecosystems (particularly in cutting-edge domains) you need proper alignment between innovation producers (i.e. academia) and those that upskill the end-users of those innovations (i.e. vocational training centres, industrial training centres). With the uprise of #deeptech solutions, such need becomes even more critical considering the horizontal pressures faced by EU industries and society: i.e. #environmental compliance, social #equity, human-centricity and so on. We are happy to have launched another cutting edge project under the leadership of Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH) ! Particularly, over the next 3 years we will be working with an ambitious consortium gathered under the WELDIFY project (#Deep-tech driven inclusive and socially-aware #circular #material joining & welding (CMW) for a safe future). Why is this important ? Simply because challenges associated with #recycled metals, when not properly refined or tested, include diminished material properties such as strength, ductility, and corrosion resistance and this hinders the use of circular practices accross various critical infrastructure value chains (i.e automotive, construction, shipping, etc). These deficiencies can precipitate failures in critical infrastructure and manufactured goods, leading to potentially catastrophic outcomes and threat to human lives. What will WELDIFY deliver ? 1 - An innovative industrial training programme that will prioritise high resistance and quality when working with circular materials to facilitate circular economy practices. This includes advancing Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), and Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), laser, FSW, UW to ensure the reliability of circular materials in applications related to construction and automotive.) 2 - A cutting-edge human-machine interaction toolkit for trainers in welding processes by integrating robotics to enhance safety and security. 3 - Establish a robust quality assurance and certification framework for CMW, aligning with ISO standards. 4 - Foster pilot training courses and test the platform through innovative work-based learning blended apprenticeship secondments. The InterGames EU project is proud to announce that the Virtual Learning Lab (VLL) is now live and ready to empower educators across Europe! This innovative platform is designed to bring the best of interdisciplinary education, #gamification, and #technology into the classroom, offering educators the tools and insights they need to inspire their students. The VLL equips teachers with practical tools to analyze similarities and differences in European curricula and provides simple strategies to promote collaboration and apply interdisciplinarity effectively. It also explores the role of gamification in education, showcasing how technology and digital tools, including video games, can enhance learning while fostering creativity and problem-solving. The science behind the tools: A unique feature of the platform focuses on using #video #games to support conflict resolution and peace sustainability in schools, promoting empathy and social skills. To ensure educators feel confident in these innovative methods, the VLL includes interactive games that allow teachers to experience gamification firsthand before applying it in their classrooms.
