✨ About last week at ICECHIM (II) ✨ We are enthusiastic all the time about attending as many scientifical events as possible, considering the networking opportunities and the possibilities to present our work. The first edition of EURO POLITEHNICUS (International Innovation and Invention Show), organised by the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest between 22-24 November 2024, is the most recent event we joined. 🙌🏻 ICECHIM does understand the importance of bringing people interested in science together, so that they have the chance to focus on the appeal of their inventions. The inventions presented by our colleagues received several awards including gold and silver medals, OSIM Excellence Award, the Woman Inventor Award, other awards received from the participants and World Invention Intellectual Property Associations. 🥇 As always, we want to thank to POLITEHNICA Bucharest for the invitation and for their contribution to the scientifical community! 🤗

✨ About last week at ICECHIM (I) ✨ Researcher and Planner Day is celebrated every year in Romania on November 19th, as a tribute for the scientist George Emil Palade. 👨🔬 Dan Nicolau, professor at the Department of Bioengineering, McGill University, Montréal, Québec, Canada, visited us and held a lecture entitled “Brainless intelligence – Testing fungal space searching algorithms in microfluidics”. This experience was really appreciated among the researchers from our institute. 🧬 Many thanks to prof. Dan Nicolau, who marked such a special day by being present at ICECHIM and sharing with us interesting information from the chemistry area! 👏

📣 ICECHIM is glad to bring to the public eye some of the best moments of PRIOCHEM XX (anniversary edition), hosted on 16-18 October 2024, under the aegis and with the financial support of the Romanian Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitization (Ministerul Cercetării, Inovării și Digitalizării). Representatives of the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitalization (state secretary Andrei Alexandru), Romanian Chemical Society and Romanian Chemical Engineering Society, national R&D institutes, universities, Romanian Academy (Academia Romana), economic agents, as well as media partners took up our invitation. 👥 Last week, participants from Romania and many other countries in the world presented their work, in a hybrid format, in front of our guests, whom we thank for attending this event. Special thanks to Michał Cegłowski, Andrew Collins, Victor Diculescu, Tănase Dobre, Luisa Durães, Anton FICAI, Anca Mazare, Francois Xavier Perrin, Magdalena Roth and Boyko Tsyntsarski, our invited speakers, for their inspirational presentations. ✨📑 With its XXth edition, PRIOCHEM introduced a new concept dedicated to young researchers and not only, ”Tech Talks – Meet Your Mentors!”, an exciting opportunity to engage with distinguished researchers from various scientific and technological fields and to gain valuable insights, a glance at the future of the RDI domain. ICECHIM is one of the new beneficiaries of ORRI Incubators, a grant by which REINFORCING Project supports organizations and institutions in Europe, so that these can bring the R&I closer to society. 🎉 📣 REINFORCING launched the 2nd call for ORRI Incubators in March 2024, focusing on the Balkans. According to reinforcing.eu, “Eight projects were selected, each demonstrating proven expertise in ORRI practices and addressing challenges in empowering researchers, supporting institutional change, and strengthening research ecosystems.” One of them is led by ICECHIM and Urban Cultor: INSPIRE – Inclusive Co-Creation for Sustainable Research Impact. INSPIRE is fostering a more inclusive, transparent research & development ecosystem, where societal needs shape research agendas. By engaging citizens and ensuring open access, we promote sustainable innovations that balance open science with valorization, driving equitable green transition and fostering lasting societal benefits. 🧪 A training for the second open call grantees took place in Brussels, on 16 and 17 September 2024, and our colleagues were glad to be part of it. 📑 The workshop organised by Bucharest-Ilfov Regional Development Agency / Agenția pentru Dezvoltare Regională București-Ilfov yesterday, 25th July 2024, highlighted, in the first place, some conclusions of the activities held within RAW4RES project. ICECHIM, which is one of the stakeholders of RAW4RES, joined the event with excitement and came with many ideas and suggestions during the meeting. The participants initiated a debate session, based on the discussions regarding obtaining and managing raw materials. 👀 Many thanks to RDA BI for the invitation, as well as for the opportunity to attend such a dynamic and productive discussion for all the participants.
