PWN Romania is a non-governmental, non-profit, volunteer-based association whose mission is to support the ascent of women in leadership positions in order to accelerate gender balance in management structures. The PWN Romania community brings together approximately 400 members in management or entrepreneurial positions in over 20 industries, as well as over 900 women in the extended community of the Association. Among the objectives of PWN Romania are the development of the professional potential of women, the support of female entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs and the economic empowerment of women, equal opportunities and diversity in the management structures of companies. The main programs of PWN Romania include since 2013 a Mentorship program dedicated to women at the beginning of their careers or in mid-management positions, an entrepreneurial education program “Toolkit for Entrepreneurs”, started in 2014 and unique programs from 2016 that offer women career a structured preparation for accessing a position on boards of directors developed by the Academy of Women on Boards of Directors. Founded in 2011, PWN Romania is part of PWN Global, a network that is developing at a fast pace, exceeding more than 3,500 members and volunteers in more than 30 cities around the world.
