Auftrag für den Neubau der Polarstern: ein Meilenstein für Forschung, Nachhaltigkeit und den deutschen Schiffbau! 🚢 Gute Nachrichten für die Wissenschaft, den Klimaschutz und die maritime Wirtschaft: #thyssenkruppMarineSystems wurde mit dem Bau der neuen Polarstern beauftragt! Der modernste Forschungseisbrecher der Welt wird auf unserer Werft in Wismar entstehen und ab 2030 einen entscheidenden Beitrag zur internationalen Klimaforschung leisten. Wichtige Fakten zur neuen Polarstern: 🔹 Länge: 160 Meter, Breite: 27 Meter, Platz für bis zu 90 Wissenschaftler und 50 Crewmitglieder 🔹 Einsatz an über 300 Tagen im Jahr: selbst unter schwierigsten Eis- und Wetterbedingungen 🔹 Modernste Forschungstechnologie: Helikopter, Drohnen, Unterwasserroboter und ein „Moonpool“ (eine geschützte Rumpföffnung für komplexe Tauchroboter) ermöglichen bahnbrechende Forschungsarbeiten 🔹 Nachhaltigkeit im Fokus: umweltfreundlicher Antrieb mit grünem Methanol und fortschrittlicher Abgasreinigung 🔹 Das neue Flaggschiff für die deutsche Klimaforschung soll 1,185 Mrd. Euro kosten Der Auftrag ist ein starker Impuls für den Wissenschafts- und Industriestandort Deutschland. Dazu Oliver Burkhard, CEO thyssenkrupp Marine Systems: „Die Vergabe des Neubaus der ‚Polarstern II‘ an unseren Standort in Wismar freut uns sehr. Die Entscheidung ist ein Vertrauensbeweis in thyssenkrupp Marine Systems, seine Fähigkeiten auch im zivilen Bereich zu demonstrieren. Zudem zeigt der Beschluss, dass wir technologische Spitzenleistungen zu international wettbewerbsfähigen Konditionen anbieten können. Auch im Schiffbau mit neuen nachhaltigen Antriebstechnologien voranzukommen, ist eine große Aufgabe, der wir uns gerne widmen werden. Für unsere Werft in Wismar ist die heutige Entscheidung ein wichtiges Zukunftssignal: Perspektivisch könnten wir bei einer vollen Auslastung im Unter- und Überwasserbereich ca. 1.500 Arbeitsplätze schaffen.“ Das Alfred-Wegener-Institut (AWI) und seine Partner können mit der neuen Polarstern in den kommenden Jahrzehnten entscheidende Erkenntnisse zu Klimawandel, Ökosystemen und Umweltschutz gewinnen – ein weiterer Schritt in die Zukunft der Forschung. Major order for thyssenkrupp Marine Systems: Yesterday the German government approved a contract extension for the German-Norwegian #212CD submarine program, one of the shipbuilder's largest orders to date. With the construction of a new #shipbuilding hall in Kiel and the acquisition of additional shipyard capacity in Wismar, the company had previously invested specifically in this strategic project between Germany and Norway. The order will have a direct impact on creating jobs in Wismar and will have a positive effect on cash flow in the current fiscal year.

On an area of over 11,000 square meters, they assemble up to 1,400 front #axles a day for major #carmanufacturers like Volkswagen. 🚗 Sometimes, we even call them "miracle workers" because they deliver each component directly to the customer's assembly line at exactly the right time – often within just 150 minutes from order to #delivery. 🧚🏻
