Last Friday we had the pleasure of holding our annual Client Interview Competition, organized together with our long-term partner ELSA Bucharest. We are keen on helping students learn how to tackle real-world scenarios and this competition was the perfect opportunity for them to experience how it is to provide legal advice under the pressure of a client meeting and, we must say, the attendees did not disappoint. This competition was a great display of talent and dedication, and we are proud to congratulate the winners: 1st place 🥇 – Marcus Molesag and Andrei Andronache; 2nd place🥈– Marin Stefan and Fifoiu Darius; 3rd place🥉– Ana Dîrdeci and Radu Tănăsescu; and Best Consultant ⭐Paula Czudik. We also want to congratulate all the students that participated in this competition – we were truly impressed by your thoughtfulness and enthusiasm. A huge thank you to ELSA Bucharest for helping us organize another amazing event and to Corina Tiganas (Partner) and Mihai Alexandru Alexandrescu (Associate) for making this event a success! 🔍New amendments to the Companies Law Today Law 299/2024 on amending several provisions of Companies Law no. 31/1990 has been published in the Romanian Official Gazette and is set to come into force on 6 December 2024.  Law 299/2024 has been adopted in response to the sweeping impact of digital transformation, which has revolutionized how companies operate and manage their business processes. To meet the evolving needs of shareholders of all types of Romanian companies, the current framework needed to be adjusted to the digital age. The amendments focus on two main areas: removing the requirement to include the identification data pertaining to the ultimate beneficial owners in constitutive acts of all types of Romanian companies and enabling the digitalization of general meetings for all types of shareholders. When we received Aurel Ciobanu’s (Dean of the Bucharest Bar) invitation to a festive dinner celebrating all the sponsors to IBA Mid-Year Conference in Bucharest, we could not pass the opportunity to attend.
