  • CHEFS OF THE SWEDISH DIPLOMACY 🧑🍳👩🍳 🍽️🇸🇪 Embassy of Sweden in Belgrade recently hosted a training for the chefs working in the Swedish residences in Turkey, North Macedonia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Serbia. The well known Master chef from Sweden, Magnus Albrektsson, gave us the latest insights in modern Swedish home cooking using only local, seasonal products, turning simple, staple ingredients into works of art on a plate. We are immensely greatful and happy to have spent two inspiring and creative days with our chefs. Finally, it was a great pleasure to present the fantastic, carefully prepared delicacies to our dear guests. Thank you colleagues from the Swedish embassies in North Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as our colleagues from Consulate General of Sweden in Istanbul for this beautiful cooperation! We look forward continuing in the same spirit in the period to come! #SwedeninSerbia #ŠvedskauSrbiji 🇸🇪🇷🇸 🎥📸 Zoran Stojicic

  • 🌟 Exciting News from Team Sweden! 🌟 Last week, we continued our collaboration with the Ministry of Health of Serbia in the field of breast cancer detection and treatment. Sweden has achieved remarkable results in this area, with a significant reduction in breast cancer mortality thanks to comprehensive mammography screening programs. We hope that the collaboration will create possibilities for further improvement of breast cancer care through knowledge exchange between Sweden and Serbia, enabling both countries to benefit from shared expertise and advancements in breast cancer treatment. We would like to highlight the contributions of: Dr. Mirsad Djerlek, State Secretary at the Ministry of Health, Republic of Serbia. Prof. Dr. Ferenc Vicko, State Secretary at the Ministry of Health, Republic of Serbia. Dr. Verica Jovanovic, Acting Director of the Serbian Institute for Public Health. Prof. Dr. Zegarac, Director of the Institute of Oncology. A big thank you to our partners: @Ministarstvo zdravlja Srbije @BusinessSweden, @AstraZenecaSerbia Together, we can make a difference! 💪🏼🌍 #BreastCancerAwareness #HealthcareCollaboration #TeamSweden #Serbia #CancerCare

  • STORIES OF CHANGE 📰 Journalism is not a luxury – it is essential for democracy. Stories of Change: Tamara Skrozza has been awarded the 'Dušan Bogavac' journalism prize for ethics and courage, by the Independent Journalists' Association of Serbia (serb. Nezavisno udruženje novinara Srbije). For nearly three decades, Tamara has defended the principles of ethical journalism with unwavering professionalism. In the jury’s words, she embodies courage and dignity in her pursuit of truth and justice. “In a world where horror has become routine, journalists who endure provide the only genuine media landscape we have,” says Skrozza. “Without those who resist and shout, we’d be left with a media wasteland. And without those who fight seemingly impossible battles, freedom of speech would have long been silenced.” Supported by #Sweden and Sida through the Beogradska otvorena škola / Belgrade Open School and Europe ASAP, the Independent Journalists' Association of Serbia continues its work to protect free speech and empower journalists. 🖊 #StoriesOfChange #DevelopmentCooperation #SwedeninSerbia #Pričeopromenama #razvojnasaradnja #ŠvedskauSrbiji

  • We are delighted to welcome our new interns for the spring semester in the Embassy! We hope you will enjoy and gain new knowledge and experiences in the coming period! “Hi! My name is Hilda, and I am an intern in the department of politics, trade, and public diplomacy here at the Embassy. I am from Stockholm, but for the past 4.5 years, I have lived and studied in Lund. I am currently in my seventh semester of the Master of Laws (LL.M.) program, and before that, I studied political science and peace and conflict studies. I wanted to do an internship in Serbia because I have long been fascinated by the country's history and culture. I have traveled extensively in the Balkans, but I have never been to Serbia before. My impression of Belgrade is very positive. I have met many nice people, and although I have only been here for a short time, I have already seen many exciting places. During my internship at the Swedish Embassy in Belgrade, I look forward to learning more about Serbian society and Sweden's relationship with the country.” “Hello! My name is Melinda, and I come from a small town in the province of Dalarna called Leksand. I am an intern in the Development Unit here at the embassy. I have a bachelor's degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from Umeå University and am currently attending the Swedish Defence University in Stockholm for a master's program in War and Defense studies. I sought out Serbia because I had the opportunity to spend some time here when I was younger. Ever since then, I have wanted to learn more about Serbia's culture and history. I found Belgrade to be a very pleasant city and have long wanted to return! During my internship, I look forward to learning more about Sweden's aid work in Serbia and the synergies between trade and aid.” #SwedeninSerbia #ŠvedskauSrbiji
