Today’s Security Seminar with the World Lottery Association (WLA) was packed with insights and expert discussions on how artificial intelligence is reshaping the lottery industry and the security challenges it brings. 🔬 Highlights of the Day! What did we learn? 💡 Keynote speaker Marco Gercke, Prof. Dr., Director of the Cybercrime Research Institute GmbH shared his expertise on the transformative potential of AI. Opportunities and risks of current megatrends, particularly in the lottery industry, were highlighted, such as robotics and quantum computing, as well as the evolving threat landscape, and the role of decision-makers in their responses. 🔍 Case Study in Focus: Looking at how to enhance AI and cybersecurity in the lottery context, FDJ - La Française des Jeux’s Bertrand Le Piolot and Géraldine DEQUEKER focused on the risks related to GenAI, around three key themes: AI for Hackers; AI for Cybersecurity, and; Cybersecurity for AI. Together, they shared practical strategies to address risks like deepfake attacks. 🗣️ A Suppliers’ Roundtable discussed innovative AI-driven solutions to enhance lottery systems including: 👤 Dimitris Doganos (Intralot Greece): AI for threat detection and compliance. 👤 Marc Castejon (Carmanah Signs, a Division of STRATACACHE, France): Generative AI for predicting and preventing data breaches. 👤Dragan Pleskonjic (IGT, Serbia): Real-life applications of AI in cybersecurity. 👤Avi Cohen (Aristocrat Interactive): Proactively identifying at-risk gambling behaviors using AI. 📋 To end the day Nicodemo Baffa (IGT Italia) discussed WLA's AI risk management strategies, including top risk evaluations and the upcoming 2024 Risk Register. José Luis Fernández Sánchez and Jesús Huerta Almendro (Loterías y Apuestas del Estado, Spain) introduced EL's Risk Card, a tool to mitigate AI-related challenges in lotteries. 🎤 Thanks to FDJ - La Française des Jeux for the support and to our moderator Fabien Marechal for sharing his key takeaways and emphasising the importance of collaboration in building a secure and innovative lottery industry.
