Good governance, biodiversity protection and sustainable use of natural resources in Eastern Europe and Central Asia

About us

IUCN, the International Union for Conservation of Nature, helps the world find pragmatic solutions to our most pressing environment and development challenges. It supports scientific research, manages field projects all over the world and brings governments, non-government organizations, United Nations agencies, companies and local communities together to develop and implement policy, laws and best practice. The IUCN Regional Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (ECARO) plays a pivotal role in shaping environmental policy in the region, promoting and applying IUCN knowledge standards and conservation best practices, and supporting institutional strengthening and capacity building for the effective conservation of biodiversity and nature's use across the region. IUCN ECARO collaborates closely with its Members and Commissions’ experts to pool knowledge, forge unified approaches, and guide the Union’s direction. By fostering cross-sectoral cooperation and linking policy to action, IUCN is at the forefront of conservation efforts in the region, with membership expansion remaining central to its mission. #IUCNecaro20 #RCF24ENCA
