Our colleague Maja participated in the IRIS Regional Social Academy which was held in Skopje, North Macedonia, from 24-28 November 2024. The main topic Regional Social Academy 2024 was “Human Rights and Social Inclusion of children and youth at risk“. The Academy enhanced regional collaboration and learning, offering participants knowledge and practical tools to address the needs of vulnerable groups, including children and young people facing complex social and economic challenges, through lectures, workshops and study visits. Thankful to @irissnetwork for a chance to participate and exchange experiences and ideas with colleagues from the Western Balkans.

On this day, the Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) was founded by Pedro Arrupe. The organization was born out of compassion and a deep commitment to serving refugees and displaced persons around the world. Since its founding in 1980, JRS has been dedicated to providing emergency relief, education, and advocacy for those forced to flee their homes due to conflict, persecution, and poverty. Today, JRS continues to stand in solidarity with refugees, empowering individuals and communities while working toward a world where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. As we celebrate the work of JRS, we also remember our shared responsibility to welcome and protect those in need.
