Throwback to our inspiring visit from Teddy Mpinganzima Mugabo , CEO of Rwanda Green Fund ! During her tour of our Mike Stenbock Kitchen—created in partnership with @imbutofoundation - she explored our Solid'Africa Farms in Rugende. We also showcased our kitchen construction at THE UNIVERSITY TEACHING HOSPITAL OF KIGALI - CHUK. At Solid'Africa, we're committed to sustainability. Our farm-to-fork model transforms food waste into fertilizer, and we operate clean cooking kitchens to minimize environmental impact, aligning perfectly with Rwanda Green Fund vision for a greener future.

Today was truly heartwarming as we joined patients across 4 district hospitals—CHUK, Masaka, Kibagabaga, and Muhima—to spread love and joy through our annual gift-giving celebration. Thanks to the incredible support of hospital staff, partners, volunteers, and our Solid’Africa team, we distributed 1,096 gifts and served over 13,000 meals to patients and caregivers. Together, we have made a real difference this festive season, spreading hope and cheer to those in need. Thank you for being part of this impactful journey! Thank you Solid'Africa for the positive change you bring to our community and making such a significant impact on the lives of so many. Your compassion is an inspiration to all of us.
Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting an incredible team from Ecobank Rwanda who showed us the power of collective action. The team immersed themselves in our Farm-to-Fork approach, from harvesting fresh produce to volunteering at Masaka Hospital, and enjoyed experiencing our kitchen operations firsthand. Thanks to their generous donations, we will provide 3,600 meals to patients in hospitals as part of our Christmas gift-giving event tomorrow. This shows the incredible impact we can have when individuals come together. Every contribution helps create a stronger and more caring Rwanda. Join us in making a difference! #SolidAfricaHolidayGiving #FestiveImpact #solidafrica #nutritionsecurity #foodismedicine

As 2024 comes to a close, we’ve seen how sustainable farming can restore ecosystems, how better food systems can strengthen communities, and how women-led conservation can protect millions of acres in sub-Saharan Africa. 🌿 Community Markets for Conservation has trained over 335,000 Zambian smallholder farmers, including 26,000 supported through our partnership, in regenerative agriculture. These farmers are earning higher incomes while restoring biodiversity in Zambia’s Luangwa Valley. 🍽️ In Rwanda, Solid'Africa trained 4,500 vulnerable farmers—nearly 60% women—to adopt regenerative practices. Their cooperatives supply produce for nutrition programs delivering 100,000+ meals annually to low-income patients in Kigali’s public hospitals. 💪 Akashinga invests in women’s leadership to protect 13 million acres of land and seascapes across Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Botswana, and Namibia—preserving biodiversity and redefining women’s roles in conservation.
