A fantastic base to explore Shanghai. The East Nanjing Road metro station is very convenient for coming to/from the Pudong Airport (from memory exit 6 was best for the hotel) and for getting around the city to the many sights. Both The Bund and the shopping area on the Nanjing Road are only a 10-15min walk from the hotel. The street the hotel is on is itself an attraction: a small slice of daily Chinese life. You can see the Oriental Pearl TV Tower in the distance as you come and go from the many cheap restaurants immediately opposite the hotel. There are also a fascinating mix of local shops to look at: fruit and veg, bakeries, tobacconists, general store, seafood etc. The room was rather tiny but it was suitable for me as I only needed somewhere secure and clean to sleep at night - too much to see to be spending time inside! The staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
