Air Seychelles Announces Successful Seasonal Operations to Reunion Island Air Seychelles is pleased to announce the successful completion of its seasonal operations to Reunion Island, which ran from 30 December 2024 to 18 January 2025. During this period, Air Seychelles carried nearly 500 passengers between the two islands across eight rotations, showcasing strong demand and connectivity between the Seychelles and Reunion. The seasonal flights included two direct services between Seychelles and Reunion, as well as additional routes that made a stop in Mauritius, facilitating travel options for passengers. This initiative, in collaboration with Tourism Seychelles, marked a significant move to enhance accessibility and foster travel between the two beautiful island destinations. The operation is part of a strategic partnership initiated in June 2024, following the signing of a Special Prorate Agreement (SPA) with Air Austral. This agreement came in response to Air Austral’s suspension of operations to Seychelles, enabling Air Seychelles to step in and provide vital links to Reunion. Charles Johnson, Air Seychelles’ Chief Commercial Officer shares “We are pleased to have operated our first round of commercial flights between Seychelles and Reunion during the festive peak season. We anticipate being able to offer more direct service during the school holiday periods when demand and traffic increases. We offer connectivity to Reunion on all of our three weekly flights via Mauritius during other times of the year. We have collaborated closely with Tourism Seychelles to promote travel between the two destinations, ensuring that travelers can explore the diverse offerings of both the Seychelles and Reunion.” Air Seychelles extends its gratitude to its passengers, Tourism Seychelles and travel partners for their continued support of this endeavor and looks forward to further strengthening these ties and providing more exciting travel opportunities in the future.

Air Seychelles offers insight into the aviation industry for Careers Week Air Seychelles played a significant role in this year’s Careers Week, an annual initiative organised by the Ministry of Education to provide students and jobseekers with insights into various careers, training and employment opportunities. This year’s event, themed “Making the right career choice for a successful future”, was launched on Monday 08 July 2024. As the national airline, Air Seychelles welcomed school children to explore career opportunities in the aviation industry, conducted on-site visits on Mahe and Praslin, and participated in school presentations. On Tuesday 09th July, staff members Stephanie Nicholas and Sheila Banane delivered a presentation at Praslin Secondary School about careers in Air Seychelles, focusing on roles such as Guest Services Agents and Ramp functions. Students then visited Praslin Airport, where they interacted with flight crew and ground staff. On Wednesday 10th July, Christiana Labrosse, Guest Contact Centre Manager, presented to P5 students at the La Rosiere Primary School, emphasizing front office roles. The week concluded with a visit from ten students from the School for the Exceptional Child to the Head Office on Mahe. They toured the technical operations hangar, observed equipment demonstrations by engineering and IT staff, and learned about different company roles. The visit ended with a performance by the Air Seychelles Choir, which was particularly enjoyed by the attendees. Speaking of the visit, Miss Vernette Celestine from the School for the Exceptional Child expressed, “It is very heartwarming to have been invited, especially since we rarely get included in such activities regarding careers and employment. It has been an eye opening experience for all of us who attended. The choir performing for us at the end was a very touching gesture! Thank you Air Seychelles.” Sandy Benoiton, CEO of Air Seychelles, highlighted the airline’s commitment “At Air Seychelles, where our workforce consists mainly of Seychellois, we are enthusiastic to participate in any initiative that will encourage our future candidates to join our line of work. It has been a pleasure to host these visits and we take the opportunity to thank the schools who have both invited us to their grounds for talks as well as come to us for a tour.” The Careers Week concluded on Friday 12th July 2024.

In 2021, Air Seychelles answered the Tourism Department's call to adopt a school under the 'Lospitalite Campaign'. A campaign geared to equip young children enrolled in their school's tourism clubs with the know how and skills they will need once they reach employment age. The airline was lucky enough to be paired with the School for the Exceptional Child. A blessing, since we had been involved with the institution for many years before that. Today, we were proud to attend the school's celebratory 30th anniversary assembly, and were in awe of all that had been prepared and no doubt rehearsed for many weeks by the students and staff. Congratulations and a very Happy Anniversary to our little friends and staff of this wonderful learning centre. You can always count on our support!
