*Sigh*  In the latest show of white male privilege, so-called fans are pissed about the first trailer for ‘Star Trek: Discovery‘, the new show which will be available on CBS All-Access.  The reason why? The stars of the show are Sonequa Martin-Green (an African American woman) and Michelle Yeoh (an Asian American woman).  Apparently, there aren’t enough white dudes in the cast, even though what most Trek fans love about the various incarnations of the franchise is the fact that it symbolizes inclusivity.  We’ve already had a female captain, Kathryn Janeway (played by Kate Mulgrew) on ‘Star Trek: Voyager’ and an African American captain, Benjamin Sisko (played by Avery Brooks) on ‘Star Trek: Deep Space Nine’.

Let’s not forget that the original ‘Star Trek’ broke boundaries by airing the first interracial kiss on television, between Lt. Uhura (Nichelle Nichols) and Captain Kirk (William Shatner).  Hell, it broke boundaries just by having Lt. Uhura in a commanding lead role, as opposed to being “the help.” Nichols has been singled out as an inspiration for both actress/talk show host Whoopi Goldberg and the first black woman in space, Mae Jemison.

On top of that, the show included Scotsman Scotty, Russian Chekov and Asian Sulu.  Oh and aliens.  Those folks that aren’t even from Earth.  But ladies of color?  Ewwwww!  Ick!!!

I mean… Captain Kirk banged a green chick.  Twice, because they brought it back in the reboot.  In ‘Star Trek Beyond’, Sulu was even depicted as gay and a father!  Like… have you racists ever even SEEN an episode of ANY ‘Star Trek’?  The entire point of it is inclusivity!  That Earth overcomes racism and nationalism and we all come together to journey forth into space to spread THAT message!

I guess this is another sign of the Trumping of America.  But seriously, a**holes… you seriously missed the point somewhere.  ‘Star Trek’ is about inclusion and harmony, not your fragile racist white male bullsh*t.  Seriously, go f*ck yourselves..

At any rate, ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ starring AFRICAN AMERICAN Soniqua Martin-Green and ASIAN AMERICAN Michelle Yeoh, Shazad Latif and Maulik  Pancholy, plus WHITE MALE James Frain, WHITE MALE Anthony Rapp, WHITE MALE Rainn Wilson, WHITE MALE Jason Isaacs, WHITE MALE Doug Jones, WHITE  MALE Kenneth Mitchell, WHITE MALE Terry Serpico, and WHITE MALE Damon Runyon will be available to stream later this year.
