Going into 2025, Counter-Strike 2 has seen major tournament structure changes 👀 In tandem with the launch of CS2, Valve announced that starting in 2025, third-party tournament organisers can no longer partner with teams, opening up the competitive ecosystem to more teams. Moreover, open qualifiers have been removed for North American and European regions in Majors, which means that teams qualify through their Valve Ranking. This likely means fewer upsets and Cinderella-story runs for lower-tiered teams, which many believe is what makes the Majors so special. Nonetheless, others have said that it is more fair and creates fewer opportunities for cheating, ultimately increasing the integrity of the very competition. What do you think?
