🚀 Kicking off the #Best4Grid project! 🌍⚡ We are excited to share updates from the kick-off meeting of the #Best4Grid project: Vehicle battery storage for green transport and grid stability in the Nordics. The project, which is part of the Nordic Grand Solutions Programme funded by Nordic Energy Research, runs from 01 May 2024 to 31 December 2026. The project supports the Nordic region’s goal of becoming carbon neutral and the most sustainable, integrated region in the world by 2030. The project focuses on addressing the critical challenge of decarbonizing the transport sector through electrification and increased use of renewable energy sources. While these efforts reduce emissions, they also create issues like energy imbalances, reduced capacity margins, and grid congestion. #V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) technology offers a solution by enabling #electric #vehicle batteries to store surplus electricity and supply it back to the grid when needed, enhancing grid stability and resilience. However, widespread adoption of the #V2G technology faces significant technical, market, societal, and regulatory challenges. The project is driven by a strong consortium of academic and industry partners, including DTU - Technical University of Denmark, Denmark (coordinator), Uppsala University, Sweden, University of Vaasa, Finland, Scania Group, Sweden, Frederiksberg Forsyning A/S, Denmark, and Energinet, Denmark. The following researchers, from these esteemed organizations, are a part of the #Best4Grid project and participated in the kick-off meeting: Fredrik Haglind, Rohit Kothari, Simone Parisi, Arun K. Raj, Adriana Gliozzo Kerrn-Jespersen, MBA, Daniel Brandell, Jennifer Leijon, Wendi G., Mona Enell-Nilsson, Mazaher Karimi, Shah Rukh Shakeel, Sanna Tuomela, Hossein Naderian, Solomon Abebe Asfaw, Tohid Abedi, Shruti Srivastav, Christian Adelhardt, Kristian E. Beyer The kick-off meeting marked our first vital milestone, bringing together all partners to establish a shared sense of purpose. During the meeting, we: (i) Discussed collaboration within and across different work packages. (ii) Aligned on our deliverables, goals, and timelines. (iii) Shared insights and ideas for achieving project milestones. (iv) Enjoyed great food and had engaging discussions about the path forward for the project. 📌 For more information about the project and ongoing updates, visit our https://best4grid.dtu.dk/ and follow us on Best4Grid. Together, we are working towards a more sustainable and resilient energy future for the Nordic region. #Best4Grid #V2G #ElectricVehicles #GreenTransport #GridStability #Sustainability #SmartEnergy #SustainableSolutions #Nordics2030 #Collaboration #Teamwork Lise Nielson
