Anotherblock was founded on the premise of making music rights liquid, creating valuable opportunities for investors, and enhancing control and freedom for creators. With our marketplace, we've shown there's a real demand for music as an investment - we’ve also made investing in hits like Rihanna's "BBHMM" and The Weeknd's "Acquainted” possible, and our offerings are generating average yields exceeding 11%. Now, we’re taking our next step - to create the global standard for public music rights offerings. The European Parliament passed the AI Act on March 13, taking a proactive approach to governing AI technologies in the region. Particularly in the context of the music industry, where concerns about AI have sparked copyright infringement debates in the US, the AI Act demonstrates a good first step towards ensuring creators and rightsholders are safeguarded in the AI era. The law requires developers of ‘general purpose AI’ (GPAI) models to keep track of and disclose what content is used in training. Any use of copyright-protected content requires the authorization of the rightsholder concerned. While some ambiguities remain to be sorted out, such as the exact definition of 'general purpose AI’, we’re excited to see how this unfolds. #AIAct #musictech #innovation #musicindustry

Cyndi Lauper recently sold a majority share of her music, in publishing and recorded music royalties, to Pophouse Entertainment. Renowned for revitalizing the catalogs of legendary artists such as ABBA and Avicii, Pophouse announced its plans to apply its unique, immersive approach to Lauper's timeless anthems, where they will enhance her IP's value through “new content and experiences, for fans old and new.” With Goldman Sachs forecasting recorded music revenue to double by 2030, the music industry is set for significant growth, and this deal is a clear indicator of the enduring and increasing appeal of music investments. It is also an acknowledgement of music rights and music intellectual property as a key asset class that is resilient, growing in value, and untapped. #musicbusiness #musicindustry #innovation #alternativeinvestments
