🌍💧 #PFAS in Potable Water: A €1.6 Trillion Challenge for Humanity 💰🚨 #PFAS, known as "forever chemicals", are silently contaminating our most essential resource: drinking water. These synthetic substances, found in products ranging from non-stick cookware to firefighting foams, degrade so slowly that they’re now widespread in water systems across Europe. The cost of ensuring safe, potable water is staggering. 😮 📰 A groundbreaking investigation by The Guardian, Le Monde, Sveriges Radio, Yle, and SRF - Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen among others reveals: 💸 €1.6 trillion over 20 years is needed to remove PFAS from Europe’s water supplies, averaging €80 billion annually. 💧 In Sweden, cleanup costs alone could exceed €30 billion, forcing water utilities to raise consumer bills by 25-111%. 🚰 PFAS contamination affects drinking water, posing risks such as cancers, infertility, and immune suppression. The reality? This isn’t just a problem—it’s a crisis. 💡 Preventing PFAS emissions is the cheapest and most effective strategy, according to Hans Peter Arp, environmental chemist at the NGI - Norwegian Geotechnical Institute. But what about areas where contamination has already taken hold? At Auqvian, we use an innovative solution: 🌫️💧 Atmospheric Water Generation (AWG). By capturing water directly from the air, our technology creates fresh, drinkable water without relying on contaminated sources—a critical advantage as PFAS challenges mount. This isn’t just about solving a problem; it’s about creating a future where everyone has access to safe, potable water. 🌍✨ 💬 The question is urgent: How can we address this crisis while developing solutions that bypass it altogether? Let’s collaborate to secure clean water for generations to come. 📢 Huge thanks to The Guardian, Le Monde, Sveriges Radio, and the #ForeverLobbyingProject for shedding light on the PFAS crisis and its impact on drinking water. 🌟 Sources: https://lnkd.in/emfbcqRV https://lnkd.in/dYmt5HuZ https://lnkd.in/dv3uXfcs #PFAS #ForeverChemicals #PotableWater #AWG #CleanWater #Sustainability #Auqvian #ClimateAction #Innovation #WaterSecurity
