🌟 International Day of Women and Girls in Science 🌟 At BioArctic, we want to highlight the International Day of Women and Girls in Science on February 11th. With 64% women in our organization, 56% in corporate management, 63% as managers, and 59% with a PhD, we demonstrate that we have succeeded in creating good conditions for women to develop in science and entrepreneurship. We would like to introduce two of our role models - our CEO Gunilla Osswald and Chief Research Officer Johanna Fälting. We now welcome Rebecca Kastell as Vice President Head of HR at BioArctic. Rebecca takes over after Gunilla Andersson who is retiring this year. Gunilla has contributed to BioArctic's growth, from 30 employees to the listed and successful company it is today. Rebecca has spent most of her career at the intersection of business growth, leadership, and personnel strategy. She has helped companies expand, internationalize, and build strong cultures. Now she looks forward to collaborating with her team and colleagues to continue developing BioArctic. What brought Rebecca to BioArctic is the company’s clear purpose - to make a real difference in people’s lives. 🔷 How would you describe your leadership? - Leadership is a relationship that needs to be adapted to the individual, the team, the goal and the company. The core ingredients for me are trust, dialogue, transparency, self-awareness and fun as well as always keeping the vision and big picture in mind. The best moments in my role as a leader have been when the team achieves meaningful milestones together, when there is real conversation and connection and when people break boundaries in what they believe they can do and take leaps to achieve their potential. 🔷 How do you work to create open and inclusive communication with your colleagues/team? - A dialogue that is characterized by curiosity, genuineness and directness tends to build relationships where people can be themselves, which is a prerequisite for an open and inclusive communication. Also, I find that systematically asking for rewarding and welcoming differences in opinion and new perspectives are ways to build a constructive communication climate. 🔷 What qualities do you consider most important when recruiting? - Beyond following a science-based approach to recruitment to get the right skills, experience and personal qualities, we look for people who are genuinely motivated by the mission of BioArctic. Alignment with our culture, values and willingness to collaborate are also important aspects. We have had the honor of welcoming professor Bengt Winblad and Gunilla Johansson to the BioArctic office. They were interviewed on stage by Sr. Medical Director Sven Erickson. BioArctic söker nu en NeuroScience Account Manager, region Väst/Sydöst. Rollen ska ge ovärderligt stöd till sjukvården i implementeringen av en helt ny patientresa inför lanseringen av ett nytt läkemedel mot Alzheimers sjukdom. De blir del av ett växande svenskt forskningsfokuserat biofarmaföretag med en optimistisk ”can-do” attityd och ett engagerat och mycket skickligt team.
