Finally, we can tell you – in March 2025, we’re starting a 3-year collaboration project with Botkyrka kommun to provide free weekly circus training for children at three schools in North Botkyrka! Thanks to the generous support of Signatur - Insamlingsstiftelse för musikfrämjande and Gålöstiftelsen, kids will have the chance to learn, challenge themselves, and perform in a safe and inspiring environment — bringing circus into everyday school life. Cirkus efter skolan is a big step toward making circus a natural part of education and after-school activities, and we couldn’t be more excited. Read more about it below 👇

BIAC! Are you attending? 🇬🇧 Irene Ramilli (Touring Manager) and Kajsa Giertz (CEO) of Cirkus Cirkör are participating in the BIAC – Professional Forum from January 22 to 25. We're looking forward to attending the program put together by our friends at Archaos and Artcena: round tables, project pitches, shows, and meeting old and new circus friends in Marseille, France. 🇫🇷 Irene Ramilli (responsable des tournées) et Kajsa Giertz (Directrice Générale) de Cirkus Cirkör participeront à la BIAC – Rencontres Professionnelles du 22 au 25 janvier. Il leur fera plaisir d'assister au programme proposé par Archaos et Artcena incluant tables rondes, pitch de projets, spectacles, ainsi que de rencontrer d'anciens et de nouveaux amis du cirque à Marseille pour cette occasion. Vad är samhällsnyttig innovation och hur skapar vi bättre förutsättningar för att den stärks? 💡 En av 2024 års sista aktiviteter inom ramen för vårt projekt Samhällsentreprenörskap Sverige var ett givande och engagerande rundabordssamtal tillsammans med drivna forskare och utvecklare av social innovation. Vi fick tillsammans med Malin Lindberg från Luleå University of Technology, Malin Gawell från Södertörn University, Marlene Claesson från Youth 2030 Movement, Ninja Larsson från Stockholms stad och Bostad Först, och Clara Norman från Cirkus Cirkör kloka inspel kring vikten av att satsa på innovation som till högre grad involverar social utveckling och processer. Andra frågor som diskuterades var hur skalning kan se ut, hur vi bygger starkare strukturer för gemensamt lärande och hur vi finansierar social innovation. Stort tack till deltagarna för engagemang och högt i tak! 🙌 Här är några take-outs från samtalet men vi kommer även dela fler insikter och lärdomar från dessa samtal under 2025 så följ oss gärna och dela även gärna med dig av dina egna tankar och reflektioner kring dessa frågor. ✨

We have to be honest with you guys: we’re turning 30 this year, and we’re having a bit of a crisis 😩   Feel like we get too little attention from the people, the media, the king (we're looking at you, Gurra). What happened to all those dreams about infinite fame!? Are we living trad life now?    So we’re basically the main character this year – started with a lower back tattoo for a new era (it’s in style again, you know).   We have some personal development stuff and big celebrations to work through this year. Join our midlife crisis by following us here on social media or subscribing to our newsletter. YES! We’re proud to announce that as of yesterday, our Head of Arts & Production is no other than Marie-Andree Robitaille. Marie-Andrée first joined Cirkör in 1998 as a dancer and acrobat, breaking barriers as the first woman to perform on the Chinese pole in our productions SuperCirkör, 00:00, and Trix. Since then, she’s built an impressive career, including scouting talent for Cirque du Soleil, leading the Circus Bachelor’s Programme at Stockholm University of the Arts, and pioneering circus artistic research as a transformative force in society. Marie-Andrée holds a PhD in Fine Arts in Performative and Media-Based Practices, specialising in choreography, from Stockholm University of the Arts (2024). In her doctoral research, she explored the intersections of circus arts, choreography, and new materialist & posthuman philosophies, positioning circus as a practice of hope and a powerful tool for navigating today’s eco-social challenges. ”I look forward to contributing the knowledge I’ve developed as an artist, teacher, researcher, and producer to propel Cirkör’s mission forward. Together, we will continue to innovate, push boundaries, and bring Swedish circus arts to audiences worldwide.” We are excited to welcome Marie-Andrée back ❤️
