Congratulations to the Master students Alexander Carvalho and Lisa Eskilson from Chalmers University of Technology for successfully completing their Master thesis at Clavister. Alex and Lisa worked with the AI team on the timely and important topic of lightweight anomaly detection for IoT-based Smart Grids, where they evaluated Clavister’s AI technology and one of the state-of-the-art autoencoder-based methods on real data from Affärsverken, showing how Clavister’s technology compares favourably both in terms of accuracy and performance. The European Patent Office has issued an “Intention to Grant” for Clavister’s patent on its PASAD (Process Aware Stealthy Attack Detection) AI technology, ensuring protection in multiple European countries. “This is an important and exciting decision by the EPO, and we view this announcement as recognition of Clavister’s efforts to be in the forefront of innovative cyber security technology. This patent provides protection for our PASAD AI technology which has proven to be highly effective in detecting modern day cyber attacks.” said John Vestberg, CEO of Clavister. PASAD uses AI-based anomaly detection to monitor and report deviations in a system's behaviour, making it particularly effective against advanced threats like zero-day attacks. Requiring minimal training data, PASAD studies the normal behaviour of the system to detect abnormalities. Capable of processing up to 10 million records per second on a single CPU core, PASAD is resource-efficient, adaptable across protocols and media, and capable of operating without relying on central or cloud infrastructure.
