DeLaval has ranked among the top three for the prestigious Schwedischer Unternehmerpreis (Swedish Entrepreneur Award) 2024, a prominent German award. We were nominated in the ‘Medium-Sized Company’ category, acknowledging our successful growth and commitment to the German market. The Swedish Entrepreneur Award, presented annually by the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Germany, Business Sweden, and the Swedish Embassy, honours Swedish companies that have successfully established themselves in Germany. The award has been presented since 2003 and recognises companies across several categories, including large businesses, medium-sized enterprises, and newcomers. This year's ceremony, held on 21 November in Berlin, brought together business leaders, entrepreneurs, and key figures from both Sweden and Germany. DeLaval was represented by Dr Markus Käck, Vice President of Business Development and Strategy Planning EMEA and Dr Stephan Lais, Vice President of Market Area Central Europe (pictured). In our category, DeLaval competed alongside two other outstanding companies: CTEK, a leader in battery solutions, and Mycronic, a supplier of production systems for the electronics industry. While CTEK claimed the top spot, we are pleased to have been recognised as one of the top three in such a competitive field. Dr. Stephan Lais says: “We are honoured to have been named among the top three nominees for the Swedish Entrepreneur Award 2024. This recognition is a testament to the dedication and hard work of everyone at DeLaval, and we are excited to continue growing our impact in Germany and beyond.” • About the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Germany: The Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Germany is a non-profit organisation established in 1959 to connect Swedish businesses with opportunities in the German market. It provides a platform for networking, fostering collaboration, and supporting Swedish companies in expanding their presence within Germany and Europe. #DeLaval #TeamBlue #WeLiveMilk #Dairy #Innovation

Don't look at this post if you're hungry—these cheeses are mouthwatering! Clau Tartaglia, a DeLaval dealer from Argentina (Instagram @clautartagliaok, @ordeno.robotico.argentina), doesn’t just know milking equipment—she lives and breathes cheese. Clau was in Portugal for the World Cheese Awards, held from 15–17 November in Viseu (@guildoffinefood), and she has shared some photos from her visit to the Brejo da Gaia farm in Tramagal (@brejodagia), which showcased—and also took home numerous medals at the awards—their artisanal cheeses. She says: “My hobby is tasting cheeses and pairing them; in Argentina, we call it Frommelier, a term we use for cheese enthusiasts and experts, much like a sommelier for wine. However, my main activity is being a DeLaval dealer, and three years ago, I worked for DeLaval Argentina in aftermarket. 💙" #DeLaval #TeamBlue #WeLiveMilk..And cheese ;) #WorldCheeseAwards #DeLavalDealerSpotlight

Last week, DeLaval attended the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH–Flemingsberg campus) Career Fair – known as Flemingsbergs Arbetsmarknad in Swedish – where we engaged with a range of engineering students specialising in medical, computer, and electrical disciplines. We discussed how our technology-driven solutions, such as robotic milking systems and AI-based innovations, are improving the sustainability and efficiency of dairy farming. Magnus Östvall, Software Manager, Platform Software, DeLaval, says: “We received a lot of great interest and questions from students at the Career Fair. It’s clear that technology will play a key role in the future of farming, and events like career fairs are a great way to inspire students to consider this field, helping to drive new ideas for innovation and sustainability.” This is part of ongoing efforts to deepen our collaboration with KTH Flemingsberg. Located in one of northern Europe’s pivotal hubs for technology and health, KTH Flemingsberg is dedicated to interdisciplinary advancements that integrate medical technology, data science, chemistry, and electrical engineering. These fields are essential to DeLaval’s mission of developing innovative solutions, such as robotic milking machines and AI-driven behavioural analysis systems, which aim to improve cow welfare, promote sustainability, and enhance productivity in dairy farming. Discover more here: https://ow.ly/btVj50UaGpx We’ve already been working closely with KTH’s Valhallavägen (Stockholm) campus to demonstrate what can be achieved through such partnerships. DeLaval has been collaborating with students on thesis projects, with our staff providing mentorship and industry expertise. For example, our work with mechatronics students Omed Khirzia and Simon Ryberg – read their story here: https://ow.ly/39Yi50UaGnX Pontus Häger, Manager Embedded SW and Electronics, DeLaval, says: “Working with students on thesis projects gives them hands-on experience with real-world challenges in agriculture, sustainability, and technological innovation. Supporting emerging talent and fostering innovation is key to DeLaval’s mission.” #DeLaval #KTHCollaboration #Sustainability #Innovation #CareerDevelopment Kungliga Tekniska högskolan

Nishikami Kano Farm Ltd. is the first in Japan to install the DeLaval Rotary E500 milking system, a decision that reflects the farm’s dedication to improving its resilience and productivity. Located in Hokkaido’s Tokachi region, known for its thriving dairy industry, the farm is a leader in milk production. While the average dairy farm in Tokachi has a herd of around 110 cows, Nishikami Kano Farm stands out with 1,820 cows, including 920 milking cows, making it one of the largest producers in Hokkaido. Katsuya Shinohara, Senior Vice President of Nishikami Kano Farm Ltd., says the farm realised the need for a more resilient milking solution after the 2018 Hokkaido Eastern Iburi Earthquake: "Risk management is crucial. We had to think about what would happen if our existing DeLaval PER Classic Rotary was unavailable, leaving us unable to milk the cows. This highlighted our need for a second unit, as having two milking systems ensures we can maintain milk production even if one system faces issues." The Rotary E500 was chosen for its ability to enhance operational efficiency. Effective labour management is another priority for the farm. “We want to ensure that our workers are not overburdened,” says Katsuya. Ryuta Hasegawa, Director of the Milking Department at Nishikami Kano Farm Ltd., echoes this sentiment, saying, “Efficiency was a key factor in our decision. We had heard that cows entered more smoothly, which indicated that milking time would be reduced.” They were also drawn to the system’s DeLaval Rotary Cow Locator, which optimises cow positioning for milking. Its design allows for better leg positioning, making it easier to attach milking clusters and reducing physical strain on workers. Additionally, the Evanza™ milking cluster, with its lightweight and user-friendly design, simplifies daily tasks for workers, reducing strain and enhancing productivity. Complementing this innovation is the DeLaval Air Wash AW10 system, which automatically flushes and rinses the liners to remove milk residue and bacteria. Since installing the Rotary E500, the farm has seen significant improvements, including a reduction in the number of cows kicking off their milking clusters—from 20 down to just 2. This change has streamlined operations, increased worker satisfaction and cow welfare, and aligns with their philosophy of 'earning money from milk.' Currently producing 12,600 kg of milk annually, Nishikami Kano Farm aims to increase yield without expanding their herd. “We have a lot of cows, so we don’t need to increase the herd if the yield per cow is high. But achieving that is not easy,” Ryuta acknowledges. “However, if you take proper care of your cows, they will reward you.” #DeLaval #TeamBlue #WeLiveMilk #Dairy #Sustainability

“It’s crazy to see how these cows can give 20 pounds off of one quarter, and just six off of another,” says fifth-generation farmer Mark Lamborn of Lamborn Farms in Luna, Iowa. “It’s really cool to have that data and know the why of it. … Production isn’t just a fluke, but it’s something that you can expect.” Lamborn tells the Dairy Star how he was able to balance his love of milking cows with a need for freedom. Spoiler alert: the answer was DeLaval robotic milking units. https://ow.ly/4cJ950U6JTc #DeLaval #TeamBlue #Roboticmilking #WeLiveMilk

A small tool is making a big impact for service technicians! Norway-based service technician Tor Vidar Rørmark (pictured) and his team realised that installing the washing collar on the VMS™ milking robot was tricky. So, they decided to find a solution! After several months of trial and error, the screwdriver was replaced with a simple but highly effective plastic tube. “The plastic tube made the job much easier and, importantly, saved us time,” says Tor Vidar. The plastic tube solution has now been replaced with a stainless T-pipe that we already had in our range—an upgrade that offers greater durability and reduces plastic waste. "It was a perfect fit for this tool," says Ian Vila, Product Specialist. Now, DeLaval plans to roll out this time-saving tool to service technicians. Being in the field helps service technicians generate great ideas, which we always encourage, as innovation and development are central to DeLaval's success. Günter Schlaiss, Product Area Manager, On-Farm Services says: "Thanks to Tor Vidar's initiative, all DeLaval service technicians will soon be able to fit the wash collar quickly and easily. It not only saves time but also reduces frustration." #DeLaval #TeamBlue #Dairy #Cows #WeLiveMilk #Innovation
