5G is fueling the evolving digital landscape, according to the findings of the Mobility Report Q4 Update. The surging adoption of 5G has reached nearly 2.3 billion subscriptions globally, marking a new era of high-speed connectivity that is transforming industries and enabling innovations like the Internet of Things and augmented reality. It’s interesting to see how the increasing reliance on mobile technology is reshaping our daily lives. With about 8.7 billion mobile subscriptions worldwide, mobile devices are crucial for remote work, telemedicine, e-learning, and smart homes, driving economic growth and societal progress on a global scale. Mobile broadband now constitutes 90% of all mobile subscriptions, highlighting the extensive use of mobile data applications in everyday life. This trend highlights the demand and the need for further investments in mobile infrastructure to ensure that everyone benefits from the digital age. As we continue to drive innovation in programmable networks and software, we're announcing key changes to our Executive Team and global structure. 🔹 Per Narvinger, currently leading Cloud Software and Services, will step into the role of Executive Vice President and Head of Business Area Networks starting March 15, 2025.  🔹 Jenny Lindqvist, who has been shaping our Europe & Latin America business, will take over as Head of Business Area Cloud Software and Services on the same date.  🔹 Two new Market Areas will be formed: Market Area Americas, led by Yossi Cohen and Market Area Europe, Middle East & Africa, led by Patrick Johansson. A huge thank you to Fredrik Jejdling for his remarkable leadership in Networks. Since 2017, he has been instrumental in driving Ericsson’s success in delivering high-performing, programmable networks. We appreciate his contributions and wish him all the best in his next chapter! These networks promise to revolutionize how applications and infrastructure interact, offering advanced capabilities that meet current demands while anticipating future needs. Just as 4G, GPS, and authentication services transformed industries like taxis and hotels, network APIs promise to drive new applications and solutions globally. 🌐 Last year, we partnered with 12 leading operators to provide unprecedented access to network assets through APIs, fostering an open ecosystem for large-scale innovation. 🤝 We recently hosted a session at our D-15 innovation center in Silicon Valley, where industry experts explored mobile advancements within the tech ecosystem.
