We Did It! A Breakthrough at Uddeholm in Hagfors - Cheapest Energy for Every Condition! Opportunities for Modular Transition and Fossil-Free Production Ferroman are proud to announce that at Uddeholm in Hagfors, we have successfully demonstrated the seamless blending of hydrogen with natural gas. This innovation opens up entirely new possibilities, enabling production to adapt dynamically to spot market prices without requiring intermediate storage. The system can also be used to reduce NOx emissions through blending, enabling the possibility of lower flame temperatures. Naturally, hydrocarbons other than natural gas can also be used, as well as a combination of several. With this technology, it's now possible to switch freely from 0% to nearly 100% hydrogen. The level of hydrogen blending can be controlled either to reduce CO2 emissions or to take advantage of low electricity spot prices. The furnaces, equipped with active ratio optimization, autonomously adjust to achieve low oxygen levels, allowing the system to operate efficiently with other hydrocarbons as well. This is the first system of its kind to function with pulsating burner control, and we are thrilled to announce that we are filing for a global patent together with Uddeholm. Ferroman celebrates Kanelbullens Dag! Cinnamon Bun Day is celebrated in Sweden every year on October 4th. This day honors the beloved Swedish cinnamon bun (kanelbulle), a spiced, sweet pastry that has become a symbol of Swedish fika culture. The tradition was established in 1999 by the Swedish Home Baking Council, and we firmly believe in keeping the tradition alive!
