Do you know about the Collatz Conjecture? We are 9 followers away from 1,000! As a pre-party, I wanted to share this nerdy fact about Corals in mathematics 🪸 It's one of the most famous unsolved problems in mathematics and has 2 simple rules, given any number n: 1️⃣ Divide by 2 if n is even (n/2) 2️⃣ Multiply by 3 and add 1 if n is odd (3n+1) E.g. for 7, it will be: 7, 22, 11, 34, 17, 52, 26, 13, 40, 20, 10, 5, 16, 8, 4, 2, 1 The conjecture is that for any number n, the sequence will end up at 1 (and then loop 1, 4, 2, 1) The conjecture has been checked by computer for all starting values up to 268 ≈ 2.95×1020. All values tested so far converge to 1, but no one has proved it to receive the $1M prize for it. Where's the coral you might ask? Yesterday we had our weekly brunch 🥞 with a twist: The goal was to get to know AI Video generation tools and more importantly, learn the language to communicate with them. In the 2 hour session, we went from deciding on a story to: ▶️ Creating panels of the storyboard ▶️ Generating images for the panels. We used Grok and Flux.1 ▶️ Converting images to video using Runway Thanks to Emilie who shared her Hollywood and Production experience with us so we could talk with the AI more professionally.
