Recently, the #HemoCue South Africa team gathered in Gauteng for a local kick-off to celebrate the successes of a phenomenal 2024 and align our efforts to maintain momentum into 2025. The presenters highlighted the pivotal role HemoCue South Africa plays within the global HemoCue organization. They discussed how our achievements contribute to the bigger picture and collaborated on plans that align with global initiatives and objectives for 2025. With renewed energy and a clear vision, we are ready to tackle the challenges ahead and continue making a significant impact: advancing care, test by test, everywhere.

At #HemoCue, we are dedicated to making meaningful impacts in every community we serve, extending beyond healthcare. The HemoCue US team is proud to volunteer with the Atlanta Humane Society as we partner with the Atlanta community to advocate and support the needs of animals who need it the most. For over 150 years, the Humane Society has put up a united front against animal cruelty, neglect, and displacement. With a heart to improve lives, they connect homeless animals with loving homes and safe spaces. We are happy to sponsor an adoption weekend, allowing this wonderful organization to give more dogs and cats a second chance. 🩸 World Anemia Awareness Day 🩸 Today, we shine a light on anemia, a condition affecting millions worldwide. February 13 is dedicated to spreading awareness about anemia, its effects and impact. The theme for #WorldAnemiaAwareness Day in 2025 is “Raise Your Hands for Blood Health” and is marked by the first-ever global “Anemiathon” hosted by World Anemia Awareness Organization, which kicked off in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Organized by the Malaysian Society for Patient Blood Management and launched by the Malaysian Minister of Health, we were proud to take part in the event which served as a valuable platform for engaging in important discussions and pushing for action to ultimately eradicate anemia. Regional Sales Manager Mohanarupini Pramasivah, represented HemoCue at the event, where she had the opportunity to engage with subject matter experts within patient blood management and blood health. The ‘Anemiathon’ was a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when organizations, healthcare professionals, and communities unite for a common cause. 3 more days until World Anemia Awareness Day! Why is raising awareness about anemia so important? #Anemia affects more than 2 billion people worldwide and has major consequences for individual health as well as for national economies. Did you know that anemia, if left undetected and untreated, can be fatal in its most severe form? Even less severe cases may have serious consequences for the health and quality of life of large groups of people. To fight anemia, minimize its substantial impact on life, and reach the WHO Global Nutritional Target of reducing anemia, necessary investments are needed, including improving identification, measurement and understanding of anemia, scaling up treatment actions and monitoring and evaluating implementation of anemia control programs. On February 13, we will join the global community in calling attention to anemia and its impacts. This year, the World Anemia Awareness Organization is hosting a '24-hour Anemiathon', a global initiative aimed at sparking conversation and pushing for action to tackle this global health challenge. The anemiathon kicks off in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and travels around the globe throughout the 24-hour period. Arab Health Exhibition 2025 was a fantastic opportunity to connect with healthcare professionals and partners from around the world. We spent a busy few days at our booth, meeting both familiar and new faces, giving impactful demos of our products, exploring new collaborations, and engaging in insightful discussions about the importance of various healthcare initiatives.
