OK, 2025. I wrote a little piece on how I think you will change the way we work with web development and digital services. And I am welcoming a dear friend back, <input type="textbox">. I knew you would grow up to play a major role someday.
Am I right? You tell me in the comments or DMs. But first, read the article and share it as much as you like!
Happy new year friends!

Everyone at Humblebee wishes you a happy and relaxing holiday season! See you in 2025, batteries charged and ready for a bzzzzy new year.
Also. We love the work done by all the great people at Faktum, and we’re proud to have supported their Christmas edition once again this year.
Here’s a thought…
The tool does not make the designer, the designer makes the tool.
We need to move the industry from focusing Figma-flex into actually caring about the craft and having an interest for design.
It’s not about Auto layout. It’s not about tokens. It’s not about copy>paste so that every SaaS brand looks like Linear. I am not into this trade to become design robot. I became a designer because as a creative person, I like to design. Then I turned it into creating stunning digital experiences that bring value to its customers.
Design systems are great. But we didn’t start using them to eradicate the designer and turn us into drag-and-drop robots. We invented them to help us design even better experiences.
If you are a new in the business looking for a your first design job. Show me in your portfolio why you love design. Show me the craft. Maybe you can’t compete with experience, but you can compete with passion. Stay humble to the fact that you are new in this business. But show me something more than words about why you want to work with design.
Through our love for design we will find a way.

We have an open mic initiative 🎤 that we call "Sharing is caring", at Humblebee 🐝
Being a curious person, I absolutely love that anyone can host a sharing and it can be just about any topic! Gardening/growing plants, or the latest trends in service design.. 🙋♀️
👉 Yesterday Jessica Söderbäck had a sharing about her experiences and learnings around the art of giving and receiving feedback.
Some of the things that I took away from this one (except that some people really enjoy painting each others portrait, and some not so much 😅🎨) was;
🟡 When approaching the topic of giving feedback, focus less on tools and methods for it and more on your genuine interest in evolving the relationship
🟡 Try feedbacking on the process rather than just outcomes and results
🟡 When asking for feedback, specify if you are looking for appreciation and acknowledgement or if you are asking to be coached or evaluated
If you have open mic initiatives in your workplace, I'd be happy to hear about it and if you have found a fun format for it!
Have a nice weekend 👋
